L-5A01 Wireless WiFi Intelligent Control Switch

A smart home device for remote control and automation of household appliances.

1. Description

Home automation, often referred to as the "Internet of Things" (IoT), involves networking devices and appliances to provide seamless control over a home environment. The L-5A01 module is an affordable, WiFi-based wireless switch designed for smart home control. It connects to a wide range of appliances and transmits data to a cloud platform via a WiFi router. This enables users to remotely control connected appliances through the mobile application, eWeLink. The module makes traditional appliances smart, allowing remote control from anywhere with a network connection. It also supports setting timing schedules for appliances, including scheduled on/off operations, to simplify daily routines.

The module supports connecting and controlling one home appliance. It operates in self-locking mode, allowing users to independently turn the connected device on or off.

5. Functionality

6. Work Mode

The device operates in self-locking mode. If a user turns the device on, it remains on until the user turns it off. For example, pressing a button keeps the relay on; pressing it again turns the relay off.

7. Control Method

Control can be achieved through two primary methods:

  1. APP eWeLink Intelligent Control: In manual mode, users press buttons within the eWeLink app to turn the device on or off.
  2. Button Control: The device can be controlled directly using the 'SET' button on the module itself, without needing the APP or WiFi connection.

8. APP eWeLink Intelligent Control

The module can be controlled intelligently via the eWeLink APP. This includes adding, sharing, and deleting devices, setting delays, remote control, and obtaining work status.

Pairing Steps:

  1. Install and register the eWeLink APP, selecting the appropriate language. The app can be obtained from the 'APP Store', 'Google Play', or the eWeLink Official website.
  2. Connect the AC 85~250V power supply to the 'L' and 'N' input terminals. (Note: Do not connect the load before pairing and testing.)
  3. Ensure the module is within WiFi range and the phone is connected to the same WiFi router.
  4. Open the eWeLink APP.
  5. Press and hold the set button on the L-5A01 for more than 7 seconds. When the LED indicator starts to flash, click 'Add Device'.
  6. Select 'Touch' on the APP (recommended), or choose AP mode.
  7. Enter the WiFi name and password of the network the phone is connected to.
  8. Wait for approximately 3 minutes for configuration.
  9. If pairing fails, try several times (removing and reapplying power may be necessary).
  10. Reset the module's device name after a successful connection.
  11. Test and set up the module.

Use Steps:

  1. Ensure successful pairing between the module and the APP.
  2. Verify the module is within the range of the paired WiFi network.
  3. Ensure the phone has an internet connection (via WiFi, 4G, 3G, or 2G). The phone does not need to be connected to the same WiFi after successful pairing.
  4. Connect the load to the output terminal.
  5. Press the button directly to turn the device ON/OFF.
  6. Perform selective settings for Share, Schedule, Timer, or Loop timer if needed.
  7. Connect the AC 85~250V power supply to the 'L' and 'N' input terminals.
  8. Use and control the module.

9. Button Control

The module can be controlled using the 'SET' button on the module without pairing with WiFi.

Use Steps:

  1. Connect the AC 85~250V power supply to 'L' and 'N'. (Note: Do not connect the load before selecting the work mode and testing.)
  2. Test: Press the 'SET' button; the output relay and output LED indicator will turn ON simultaneously.
