Preparation Before Connection
Ensure the following settings are enabled on your mobile device:
- Allow the 'MUBVIEW' app to access mobile data and Wi-Fi. Without this, you won't be able to add cameras.
- Allow the 'MUBVIEW' app to receive push notifications. Otherwise, your phone will not receive alerts when motion is detected.
Preparation for Connection
- Insert a Micro SD card (up to 128 GB capacity; SD card not included) when the device is powered off.
- Bring the camera close to your Wi-Fi router during the connection process for a better signal.
- Press and hold the Power button for 2-4 seconds to turn the device on or off.
- After powering on the camera for the first time, press and hold the Reset button for 2-4 seconds, then follow the app's instructions to connect the camera.
Connecting the Camera to the App
Follow these steps to connect your camera:
- Add Device: Open the MUBVIEW app and tap "Add Device".
- Select Device: Choose "Battery Camera" from the list of device types.
- Reset Device: Ensure the indicator light is blinking red. Press and hold the reset button on your device for 4-5 seconds.
- Wi-Fi Connection: Select your 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi network and enter the password.
- QR Code Scan: Hold your phone 5-8 inches away from the camera lens to scan the QR code displayed on your phone. Ensure the lens is clean and try different angles if needed.
- Connection Success: Once connected, the indicator light should turn blue. The app will confirm successful addition.
Troubleshooting Note: If the camera cannot connect to the network, move it closer to the Wi-Fi router. Press and hold the "Reset" button for more than 5 seconds. Once you hear a confirmation sound, try connecting again. If problems persist, contact support at ? support@mubview.com.
Installing the Camera
Mounting Height: Install the camera at a height of 2-3 meters (approximately 6.5-10 feet) above the ground for optimal motion detection range.
PIR Detection Distance: The effective detection range is 1-7 meters (approximately 3-23 feet).
- The ZS-GX7S is designed for indoor use only. Install it indoors and keep it away from water sources.
- Choose the installation location carefully before mounting. The 3M adhesive is strong and may damage walls if removed.
- Installing the camera at 2-3 meters height maximizes the motion sensor's detection range.
- For effective motion detection, install the camera at an angle.
Important Note: If a moving object approaches the PIR sensor vertically, the camera may not detect the movement.
Reducing False Alerts
To minimize false motion alerts, consider the following:
- Avoid installing the camera in positions facing intense lights, glass, windows, or swimming pools.
- Do not place the camera too close to high-traffic areas or blind corners.
- The recommended distance between the camera and moving objects is up to 7 meters (23 feet).
- Keep the camera away from heat sources such as air conditioner vents, humidifier outlets, or projector heat vents.
If you experience delays or false alerts, please contact customer support 24/7 via ? support@mubview.com.
Battery Management
- The camera's battery typically lasts 1-2 months, assuming approximately 30 activations per day.
- Use a standard charger: DC 5V 2A (adapter not included).
- Full charging takes 6-8 hours. Please charge the camera completely before first use.
- Battery duration depends on how often the camera is activated. Frequent activations will deplete the battery faster. Consider reducing motion detection sensitivity or disabling it periodically.
- Battery performance may decrease in temperatures below 0°C (32°F).
When you receive a low battery alert, it is recommended to remove the camera for charging indoors or keep it connected to the power adapter.
Multi-User Sharing
You can share your camera with friends and family, granting them supervision or control permissions.
Important: Sharing is only possible if the user's location matches yours. Administrators can share devices with multiple people.
Note for Guests: Guests must download and install the "MUBVIEW" app, register an account, and log in.
Sharing Steps:
- Sharer: Scan the guest's QR code or enter their account details.
- Guest: Accept the invitation.
Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)
For more FAQs, please visit the "Me" section in the app and select "Frequently Asked Questions," or contact us via email.
❓Q: Device disconnected?
- Check if the unit is powered on and the indicator light is steady.
- Verify your Wi-Fi network is stable and restart your router.
- If the device is far from the router, consider moving the router closer or using a Wi-Fi extender to improve signal strength.
- Remove the camera from your MUBVIEW account, reset the device, and add it again.
- Ensure the device firmware and app are up to date.
❓Q: How to update router or Wi-Fi password?
Remove the camera from your MUBVIEW account, reset the device, and then add it again using the new Wi-Fi network name or password.
❓Q: Cannot play history videos?
- Check the SD card status in "Settings" to ensure it's recognized correctly.
- Reinsert the SD card.
- Format the SD card within the app.
- Try using a different Micro SD card.
❓Q: Alarm activates frequently?
- In the app, lower the motion detection alarm sensitivity.
- Check for objects within the device's field of view that might trigger the PIR sensor (e.g., air conditioners, moving cars, passing pedestrians). Adjust the camera's angle to avoid these interference sources.
- Enable "Alarm only when people appear" to filter out unnecessary alerts using human-detection algorithms.
❓Q: Cannot receive alarm push notifications on your phone?
- Enable push notification permissions for the "Mubview" app in your phone's system settings.
- Ensure the device's motion detection function is successfully enabled.
- Restart your phone and try clearing the cache for the Mubview app (especially on Android).
- Verify your network connection is stable.
❓Troubleshooting Network Connection Issues: Indicator has a solid red light
- If the indicator shows a solid red light, please restart or unplug the device and reconfigure it.
- If resetting doesn't work, contact our technical support team at ? support@mubview.com for assistance. They may provide a device update package. Please first check if you have an SD card reader and an SD card.
- If none of the above methods resolve the issue, please contact us for further solutions.
❓Indicator is red and blinking slowly, but not blinking rapidly after scanning the QR code, and no "beep" sound is heard.
This may be caused by an abnormal QR code, a defocused lens, or a defective device.
- Ensure your phone is 5-8 inches from the lens and try scanning the QR code from different angles.
- If using a new phone model, it might cause QR code abnormalities. In such cases, please provide a screenshot of the QR code, your phone's model, and operating system version.
- Make sure the lens is clean. Try using AP mode for configuration and check if the lens is clear.
- If you still cannot configure the device and it shows no response, please provide your device's serial number, a screenshot of the QR code, and the exact time of configuration (a video of the configuration process is helpful) to assist in troubleshooting.
❓Indicator is red and blinking slowly, then turns to a rapid red light after the device scans the QR code, but the rapid red light does not turn blue.
A rapidly blinking red indicator signifies successful QR code recognition. Potential reasons for configuration failure include:
- Incorrect Wi-Fi password.
- Unstable network. Place your device next to the router during configuration. If it still fails, restart your router and reset your device to try again. You can also try using your mobile data as a hotspot for configuration.
- If hotspot configuration fails, the device's internal Wi-Fi antenna might be defective. Please contact us for further assistance.
❓Indicator is red and blinking slowly, turns to rapid red light after scanning the QR code, and the rapid red light turns blue after some time, but the device could not be added to the APP.
Please provide your device's SN/account information and the exact time of configuration. This information will be sent to our technical engineering team for problem resolution.
