Preparation for Connection

For optimal performance, ensure the following:

  1. Allow the "MUBVIEW" app to access mobile cellular data and the Wi-Fi network. Without these permissions, you will not be able to add the camera.
  2. Allow the "MUBVIEW" app to receive popup notifications. This ensures you receive alerts when motion is detected.

[Description of App Permission Screenshots: Shows settings for granting wireless data access (WLAN and Cellular Data) and enabling notification permissions.]

Important Notes:

  • "MUBVIEW" offers a basic cloud storage version free for 7 days. Alternatively, you can insert a microSD card to store your videos.
  • This camera is compatible only with 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi networks; it does not support 5 GHz.
  • When connecting to the network, position the camera close to your 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi router to ensure a stable network signal.

Connecting the Camera to the App

Follow these steps to connect your camera:

  1. Open the MUBVIEW app and navigate to "Add Device".
  2. Select the appropriate device type (e.g., "Camera").
  3. Follow the on-screen instructions to power on the device and prepare for connection.
  4. Wi-Fi Setup: Select your 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi network and enter your password. The device does not support 5G Wi-Fi networks.
  5. Operation - Prepare for Scan: After clicking "Next", a QR code will appear on your smartphone screen. Hold the phone screen with the QR code towards the camera's lens at a distance of approximately 15-25 cm (5-8 inches). Keep the phone steady. Successful pairing will be confirmed by an audible beep from the device.
  6. Waiting for Connection: The app will show the connection progress (searching device, registering to cloud, initializing device).
  7. Connection Successful: Once connected, the app will display "Add successfully" with your camera's details. Click "Next".

Troubleshooting Note: If the camera fails to connect to the network, insert a "pin" into the reset hole, press and hold the "reset" button for more than 5 seconds, and try reconnecting after hearing the beep. If the problem persists, email support@mubview.com.

Camera Installation

For optimal performance and coverage:

  1. Position the camera 2-3 meters (7-10 feet) from the ground.
  2. Tilt the camera downwards at an angle of approximately 15°.
  3. For best results, ensure the PIR lens is level.
  4. Avoid installing the camera vertically towards moving objects, as this may lead to missed motion events or detection delays.

[Diagram showing correct placement height and tilt angle, and correct PIR lens orientation with checkmarks. Incorrect placement examples are shown with crosses.]

Reducing False Alarms

To minimize false alarms, consider the following:

  • Do not install the camera facing strong lights, glass, windows, or swimming pools.
  • Avoid placing the camera near corners with heavy traffic.
  • The recommended distance between the camera and moving objects for detection is 10 meters (33 feet).
  • Keep the camera away from heat sources such as air conditioners, humidifiers, or projector heat vents.

If you experience delayed motion detection or frequent false alarms, contact the 24/7 after-sales service at support@mubview.com.

Resetting the Camera:

Insert a "pin" into the reset hole and press and hold the button for 5 seconds to reset the camera.

  2. User B accepts the sharing invitation.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

For more detailed FAQs, access the MUBVIEW app, navigate to "Me" > "Help & Questions", or contact us via email.

Why is the device offline?

  1. Check if the equipment is powered on and if the operating light is on normally.
  2. Verify the Wi-Fi network is stable and restart your router if necessary.
  3. If the device is far from the router, consider moving the router closer or using a Wi-Fi extender to improve signal strength.
  4. Remove the camera from your Mubview account, reset the device, and then add it again.
  5. Ensure both the device firmware and the application are updated to the latest versions.

How to update the router or Wi-Fi password?

Remove the camera from your Mubview account. After resetting the device, add it again using the new Wi-Fi network name or password.

Cannot play historical video?

  1. Check the SD card status in the "Settings" menu to confirm it is recognized correctly.
  2. Reinsert the SD card.
  3. Format the SD card using the MUBVIEW application.
  4. Try using a different, new SD card.

Is the alarm frequently triggered?

  1. Reduce the motion detection sensitivity within the App settings.
  2. Check for objects that might be interfering with the PIR sensor, such as air conditioning units, passing vehicles, or pedestrians. Adjust the camera's angle to avoid these objects.
  3. Enable the "Person-only detection" feature to filter out non-human motion events.

Phone not receiving notification alerts?

  1. Ensure push notification permissions are enabled for the "Mubview" app on your phone.
  2. Verify that the device's motion detection function is correctly activated.
  3. Restart your phone. For Android devices, try clearing the app's cache.
  4. Check your phone's network connection status.

Troubleshooting Network Connection Issues:

The indicator has a solid red light:

  1. Reset or disconnect the device, then reconfigure it.
  2. If resetting the device does not resolve the issue, contact our technical support team at support@mubview.com for potential firmware updates. Please ensure you have an SD card reader and an SD card available if requested.
  3. If none of the above steps work, please contact us for further assistance.

The indicator is red and flashes slowly, but does not flash quickly after the device has scanned the QR code and does not emit a "beep" sound:

This may be due to an abnormal QR code, a blurry lens, or a defective device.

  1. Ensure your phone is 5-8 inches from the camera lens and try scanning the QR code from various angles.
  2. If your phone is a new model, it might generate an abnormal QR code. In such cases, please provide a screenshot of the QR code along with your phone's model and operating system version.
  3. Ensure the camera's lens is clean. Try using AP mode for configuration and check if the lens appears blurry.
  4. If configuration still fails and the device shows no response, please provide the device's Serial Number (SN), a screenshot of the QR code, and the exact time of configuration (a video of the configuration process is helpful) for further troubleshooting.

The indicator is red and flashes slowly, then turns red quickly after the device scans the QR code, but the fast red light does not turn blue:

A rapidly flashing indicator signifies successful QR code recognition. Potential reasons for configuration failure include:

  1. Using a 5GHz Wi-Fi network instead of 2.4GHz.
  2. Incorrect password entry.
  3. Unstable network connection. Position the device closer to the router during configuration. If issues persist, restart the router and reset the device. You can also try using your mobile phone's data as a hotspot for configuration.
  4. If the hotspot method also fails, the device's internal Wi-Fi antenna may be defective. Please contact us for further solutions.

The indicator is red and flashes slowly, then turns red quickly after the device scans the QR code. The fast red light turns blue after a while, but the device fails to be added to the APP:

Please provide your device's SN/account information and the exact time of configuration. This information will be forwarded to our technical engineering team for further troubleshooting.
