Download & Install App

The camera is compatible with Android and iOS systems. Download the 'MUBVIEW' app by searching in your device's app store or by scanning the provided QR code (QR codes are excluded from this document). Follow the app's instructions to register an account. For any installation issues, please contact support@mubview.com.

Account Registration

Sign up within the app using your email address. Select your region and correct country code. Note that users from different regions cannot share the same camera.

Add Camera to App

To successfully add the camera to the app, ensure the following permissions are granted:

  1. Allow the 'MUBVIEW' App to access mobile cellular data and wireless LAN. Failure to do so may prevent the camera from being added.
  2. Allow the 'MUBVIEW' App to receive pop-up messages. This is necessary for receiving motion detection notifications on your smartphone.

Preparation for Connection

  1. Insert a Micro SD card (supports up to 128GB; SD card not included) while the camera is powered off. The camera operates exclusively on 2.4GHz Wi-Fi and does not support 5GHz Wi-Fi.
  2. Position the camera close to your Wi-Fi router during the connection process for optimal signal strength.
  3. Press and hold the power button for 2-4 seconds to turn the camera on or off.
  4. For the initial setup, press and hold the Reset button for 2 to 4 seconds. Subsequently, follow the instructions provided within the app to connect the camera.

Connect the Camera to App

Follow these steps to connect your camera:

Add Device: Initiate the process by tapping 'Add Device' in the app.

Select Your Device: Choose 'Battery Camera' from the list of available device types.

Device Power & Reset: Hold the device's power button to start it. If the device is in sleep mode, press the 'battery camera' button to wake it up. Ensure you are near your router for the best signal. Reset the device by holding the RESET button for 4-5 seconds. Wait for a flashing RED indicator light, then tap 'Next'.

Wi-Fi Setup: Select your 2.4GHz Wi-Fi network and enter the password. Note that 5GHz networks are not supported.

Prepare to Scan: Remove any protective film from the camera lens. Tap 'Next' to display a QR code on your phone. Hold your phone 5-8 inches (15-25cm) from the camera lens to scan the code.

Connecting: Ensure the device is powered on and connected to the router. The phone and device should be on the same network. The app will show a 'Connecting' status.

Connection Successful: Once connected, the app will confirm 'Add Successful'. Tap 'Next' to complete the process.

Troubleshooting Note: If the camera fails to connect, move it closer to the Wi-Fi router. Press and hold the 'Reset' button for more than 5 seconds. Once you hear the prompt sound, try reconnecting. If the issue persists, please email support@mubview.com.

Install The Camera

Mounting Height: 2-3 Meters.

PIR Detecting Distance: 1-7 Meters.

NOTE: If a moving object approaches the PIR sensor vertically, the camera may not detect motion.

Reducing False Alerts

To minimize false alerts, please observe the following:

Battery Management

  1. The camera's battery can last approximately 1-2 months, assuming around 30 triggers per day.
  2. Charger Standard: DC 5V 2A (adapter is not included).
  3. It takes 6-8 hours to fully charge the camera. Please ensure it is fully charged before first use.
  4. Battery durability is influenced by how frequently the camera is woken up. More frequent wake-ups will drain the battery faster. It is recommended to reduce the 'Motion Detection' sensitivity or turn it off periodically.
  5. The camera's battery may drain faster in temperatures below 32°F (0°C).

When you receive a low-battery alert on your app, it is advised to take the camera down and fully recharge it indoors, or connect it to the power cable continuously.

Multi-User Sharing

You can share your camera with friends and family, granting them permission to monitor or control the device. Sharing is only possible if you confirm that the user's location matches yours. Device administrators can share their devices with multiple people. Invitees must download and install the 'MUBVIEW' application, register an account, and log in.

Sharing Steps:

  1. The sharer scans the invitee's QR code or enters the invitee's account details.
  2. The invitee accepts the invitation.

FAQ (Frequently Asked Questions)

For more detailed FAQs, please log in to the app and navigate to "Me" -> "FAQ" -> "Help Document", or contact us by email.

The device prompts offline?

  1. Check if the equipment is powered on and observe if the working light is functioning normally.
  2. Verify the Wi-Fi network is in good condition and restart the router if necessary.
  3. If the device is located far from the router, resulting in a weak Wi-Fi signal, consider moving the router closer or using a Wi-Fi amplifier to improve performance.
  4. Remove the camera from your Mubview account, reset the device, and add it again. Ensure your device firmware and application program are updated to the latest version.

Update router or Wi-Fi password?

Delete the camera from your Mubview account. After resetting the device, add it again using the new Wi-Fi network name and password.

Can't play historical video?

  1. Check the SD card status in "Settings" to confirm it is recognized.
  2. Reinsert the SD card.
  3. Format the SD card using the application.
  4. Try using a different SD card.

Alarm push frequently?

  1. In the app, lower the sensitivity of the motion detection alarm.
  2. Check for objects that might interfere with or trigger the PIR sensor (e.g., air conditioner units, passing cars, pedestrians) and adjust the camera's angle to avoid them.
  3. Enable "human motion detection" and utilize the humanoid algorithm to filter out irrelevant triggers.

The phone cannot receive the alarm push?

  1. Ensure all push notification permissions for the "Mubview" application are enabled in your mobile phone's system settings.
  2. Confirm that the device's motion detection function is successfully turned on.
  3. Restart your phone and clear its cache (for Android phones).
  4. Check your network connection status.

Troubleshooting Network Connections

The indicator has a solid red light

  1. If the indicator shows a solid red light, reset or unplug the device, then attempt setup again.
  2. If resetting the device does not resolve the issue, please contact our technical engineer team at support@mubview.com. You may need an upgrade package, which requires an SD card reader and an SD card.
  3. If none of the above methods work, please contact us for further assistance.

Indicator is red and blinking slowly, does not blink fast after QR scan, and makes no "bee" sound

This situation may be caused by an abnormal QR code, a defocused lens, or a defective device.

  1. Ensure your phone is 5-8 inches from the lens and try scanning the QR code from different angles.
  2. If using a new phone brand, it might cause an abnormal QR code. In such cases, please provide a screenshot of the QR code along with your phone's model and operating system version.
  3. Make sure the lens is clean. Try using AP mode for setup and check if the lens is defocused.
  4. If setup continues to fail and the device shows no response, please provide your device's Serial Number (SN), a screenshot of the QR code, and the exact time of setup (a video of the setup process would be helpful for further troubleshooting).

Indicator is red and blinking slowly, turns fast red light after QR scan, but the fast red light does not turn blue

A blinking fast red light indicates the device has successfully recognized the QR code. Potential reasons for setup failure include:

  1. The Wi-Fi network is 5GHz instead of 2.4GHz.
  2. Incorrect Wi-Fi password entered.
  3. Unstable network connection. Position your device next to the router during setup. If problems persist, reboot your router and reset your device. You can also test connectivity using your mobile data as a hotspot.
  4. If the hotspot connection also fails, the device's internal Wi-Fi antenna might be defective. Please contact us for further solutions.

Please provide your device's SN, account information, and the exact time of setup. This information will be forwarded to the technical engineer team for further troubleshooting.
