Kichler Alvaro Chandelier Installation Guide

Fixture Diagram Description
The fixture diagram illustrates the assembly of a Kichler chandelier. It shows an outlet box [A] secured by a mounting strap [C] and strap mounting screws [B]. The main fixture body [K] is connected via a series of stems [I] and short threaded tubes [J]. A mandatory 20-1/2" stem [L] is used first. A swivel [H] allows for ceiling angle adjustment and connects to the canopy [E], which attaches to the mounting strap. Fixture wires are routed through these components from the fixture body to the outlet box.

Cautions and Warnings
- CAUTION – RISK OF SHOCK: ⚠️ Disconnect power at the main circuit breaker panel or main fusebox before starting and during installation.
- WARNING: ❗ This fixture is intended for installation according to the National Electrical Code (NEC) and local codes. If unfamiliar with codes, installation by a certified electrician is recommended. Failure to adhere to codes and instructions may result in serious injury, property damage, and void the warranty.
- CLEANING: Always ensure power is off before cleaning. Use only a soft damp cloth. Harsh cleaning products may damage the finish.
Installation Instructions
- Stem Assembly: Screw the 20-1/2" stem [L] into the coupling on the main body [K] using a short threaded tube [J]. Note: The 20-1/2" stem [L] must be used and installed first.
- Assemble Stems: Pass fixture wires through the desired number of short threaded tubes [J] and stems [I]. Screw stems together using short threaded tubes. Screw the first stem into the end of the 20-1/2" stem [L].
- Attach Swivel and Canopy: Pass fixture wire from the last stem through the swivel [H] and into the canopy [E]. Thread the swivel end into the last stem. Orient the swivel according to the ceiling angle.
- Wire Length: Cut fixture wires to a minimum of 6 inches from the top edge of the canopy.
- Mounting Strap: Align the mounting strap [C] with the outlet box [A] and secure it using the provided strap mounting screws [B]. Adjust the strap as needed.
- Grounding (US):
- For straps with a hole and dimples: Wrap the outlet box ground wire around the green ground screw and thread into the hole.
- For straps with a cupped washer: Attach the outlet box ground wire under the cupped washer and green ground screw, and thread into the mounting strap.
- If the fixture has a ground wire, connect it to the outlet box ground wire using a wire connector. Never connect the ground wire to black or white power supply wires.
- Wire Connections:
Connect Black or Red Supply Wire to: Connect White Supply Wire to: Black White *Parallel cord (round & smooth) *Parallel cord (square & ridged) Clear, Brown, Gold or Black without Tracer Clear, Brown, Gold or Black with Tracer Insulated wire (other than green) with copper conductor Insulated wire (other than green) with silver conductor Neutral Wire Note: When parallel wire (SPT 1 & SPT 2) are used. The neutral wire is square shaped or ridged and the other wire will be round in shape or smooth (See illustration).
- Raise Canopy: Carefully raise the canopy [E] to the ceiling, passing the mounting screws [D] through the canopy's mounting holes. Ensure wires are not pinched.
- Secure Canopy: While holding the canopy in place, use lock washers [F] and knobs [G] to secure it. Tighten firmly.
- Install Bulbs: Insert recommended bulbs (not supplied).
