Installation Instructions
Remove the lock-up knobs [A] and lock washers [B] from the mounting screws [E]. Retain knobs and lock washers.
Find the appropriate threaded holes on the mounting strap [D] that align with the hole distance in the canopy [H]. Thread mounting screws [E] into the threaded holes, starting from the outlet box [G] side.
Attach the mounting strap [D] to the outlet box [G] using the strap mounting screws [C]. The mounting strap can be adjusted to suit the position of the fixture.
Grounding Instructions (Refer to diagrams a or b):
- Method a: On fixtures where the mounting strap has a hole and two raised dimples, wrap the ground wire from the outlet box around the green ground screw, and thread it into the hole.
- Method b: On fixtures where a cupped washer is provided, attach the ground wire from the outlet box under the cupped washer and the green ground screw, and thread it into the mounting strap.
If the fixture is provided with a ground wire, connect the fixture ground wire to the outlet box ground wire with a wire connector after following the above steps. Never connect the ground wire to black or white power supply wires.
Diagram Description: The grounding diagrams illustrate two methods for connecting the ground wire. Method 'a' shows a connection to a mounting strap with dimples. Method 'b' shows a connection using a cupped washer. Both involve connecting the outlet box ground wire to the fixture's green ground screw.
Make wire connections. Reference the chart below for correct connections and wire accordingly.
Connect Black or Red Supply Wire to: Connect White Supply Wire to: Black White *Parallel cord (round & smooth) *Parallel cord (square & ridged) Clear, Brown, Gold or Black without Tracer Clear, Brown, Gold or Black with Tracer Insulated wire (other than green) with copper conductor Insulated wire (other than green) with silver conductor Note: When parallel wire (SPT 1 & SPT 2) is used, the neutral wire is square shaped or ridged, and the other wire will be round in shape or smooth.
Ground Connection: Connect the fixture's ground wire to the outlet box's ground wire using a wire connector. Ensure this connection is secure.
NOTE: The fixture can be mounted with the glass shade [I] in the up or down position.
Push the fixture to the wall, carefully aligning the mounting screws protruding from the mounting strap with the holes in the canopy.
CAUTION - RISK OF FIRE: PUSH CONDUCTORS INTO JUNCTION BOX.
NOTE: Make sure all wires are inside the canopy and do not get pinched between the mounting strap and the canopy or the wall and the canopy of the fixture.
Slip the lock washers [B] over the threads protruding through the holes in the canopy (2 places).
Screw the knobs [A] onto the threads protruding through the holes in the canopy (2 places) and tighten to secure the fixture to the wall.
Carefully slip the small opening in the glass shade [I] over the socket [J]. Make sure the glass shade base is fully seated on the socket base [K].
While holding the glass shade on the socket base, secure the glass shade by screwing the socket ring [F] onto the threads of the socket until snug against the inside surface of the glass shade. DO NOT OVER-TIGHTEN.
Thread the decorative end [L] into the fixture as shown. Tighten to secure.
Insert recommended bulb(s) (not included).
