STI E-Wrap Endothermic Wrap
Product Data Sheet
Endothermic Wrap E-Wrap®
The E-Wrap® endothermic wrap is a protective wrap designed for fire protection of circuits and fundamental infrastructures such as fire pumps, signaling equipment, elevators, alarms, process control equipment, or enhanced communications systems with first responders (ERCES). When installed around electrical metallic tubing (EMT), conduits, or cable trays, E-Wrap® releases chemically bound water to provide a cooling effect, offering up to 2 hours of circuit integrity, ensuring continuous operation in fire conditions.
Applications
Protection of circuits including cables, electrical metallic tubing (EMT), conduits, or cable trays.
Specifications
The protective wrap product must be a flexible, endothermic insulating wrap for the protection of electrical systems such as electrical metallic tubing (EMT), conduits, or cable trays for up to 2 hours. The protective wrap must be installable in layers and secured with a minimum of 1.3 mm (16 GA) steel tie wire to protect encapsulated elements from the effects of fire and heat. The product must be capable of providing equal F and T ratings when applied to penetrations for public utility box membranes. The approved protective wrap must be certified by UL and Intertek. The approved product must be the E-Wrap® endothermic wrap.

Tests and Approvals
Performance criteria, circuit integrity protection: Standards, ASTM E1725. Values, 1 and 2-hour ratings.
Installation Information
Typical tools required include knives, tin snips or electric shears, measuring and marking tools, aluminum tape, 16 AWG steel tie wire, or stainless steel fastening straps. Consult the Intertek system and determine the required number of layers. Adhere to the design listing requirements for joints, seams, and overlaps. Secure protective wrap with mechanical fastening using the corresponding steel tie wire or stainless steel fastening straps.
Limitations
This product was designed for safe use with plastics. It has been widely used and successful with various types of plastic pipes, tubes, and cable insulation. However, variations in these materials prevent compatibility guarantees. STI strongly recommends that the user consult with the manufacturer of the pipes, tubes, or cables regarding any known sensitivities or potential restrictions before applying this product.
Storage Information
The material must be stored in a dry area, protected from rain, liquids, and inclement weather that could degrade the product. Direct contact with liquids is destructive and detrimental to its insulating and physical properties. Store on wooden or concrete pallets to prevent moisture absorption from the floor. Do not stack pallets to avoid compression of the insulation.
Maintenance
Normally, no maintenance is required. If the aluminum foil is damaged, repair with aluminum tape, maintaining a minimum of 51 mm (2 inches) of overlap. For more extensive damage, remove and repair according to the original design listing.
