Care and Maintenance
⚠️ Chemical Resistance: Note: Due to problems with chemical resistance, choose cleaning materials which are suitable for plastic.
Lenses Options
The luminaire is available with various lens options for different light distribution patterns:
- escape
- escape HP
- escape 90°
- escape 90° HP

Visual representations of these lenses and their associated beam patterns are provided on subsequent pages.
Light Distribution Patterns
Escape and Antipanic Lenses
Diagrams show the light distribution for 'escape' and 'antipanic' lenses. The 'escape' lens typically provides a wide, even spread. The 'antipanic' lens is shown with a wider spread, suitable for escape routes. A checkmark ✔️ indicates correct placement/usage, while a cross ❌ indicates incorrect.
Spot Lenses
Diagrams show the light distribution for 'spot' lenses, providing a more focused beam. The 'spot HP' lens is also depicted.
Spot Version Specific Note
? Spot Version Note: The luminaire should be positioned so that prolonged staring into the luminaire at a distance closer than 1.18 m is not expected.
This note is also provided in German, French, Italian, and Dutch.
Light Distribution Patterns (Continued)
Escape 90° and Escape 90° HP Lenses
Diagrams illustrate the beam pattern for the 'escape 90°' lens, showing light directed at a corner or edge, and the 'escape 90° HP' variant.
Escape HC and Antipanic HC Lenses
Diagrams show the light distribution for 'escape HC' and 'antipanic HC' lenses. The 'escape HC' is depicted with a central beam and side illumination, with a checkmark ✔️ for correct placement and a cross ❌ for incorrect. The 'antipanic HC' shows a wider spread suitable for larger areas.
Installation Steps
Variant Identification
The luminaire is available in ExD (self-contained battery) and ECx / ELP (central battery) variants. Tools required include a screwdriver and pliers.
Step 1: Lens Adjustment
(1a) Use a screwdriver to adjust the lens. The adjustment range is approximately ±90°.
(1b) Use pliers to adjust the lens angle. The mechanism makes a "CLIX...CLIX..." sound when adjusted.
(1c) Visually confirm the lens position.
(1d) Tighten screws to a torque of 1.2 Nm.
Step 2: OPTION ExD ONLY (Self-contained Battery)
This section details the installation of the battery for the ExD variant.
E1D and E3D Variants: Two battery types are shown, E1D and E3D, both from Zumtobel.
(2a) Note the "Commissioned Date" field on the battery.
(2b), (2c), (2d) Steps for inserting the battery into the luminaire. The battery and its cover are secured with a "CLIX" mechanism.
⚠️ Caution: Do not tamper with the rechargeable batteries and/or battery packs in any way. The diagram shows a warning symbol indicating incorrect battery insertion or handling.
Step 3: Switch Mode Selection via Jumper
The luminaire's operating mode can be selected using a jumper:
- Jumper IN (delivery state): Sets the luminaire to 'maintained light' mode (Dauerlicht, régime permanent, modalità sempre accesa, permanente verlichting, luz permanente).
- Jumper OUT: Sets the luminaire to 'non-maintained light' mode (Bereitschaftslicht, régime non permanent, modalità solo emergenza, niet-permanente verlichting, circuito de reserva).
Mode Specifics:
- ExD: Jumper selection for stand-alone luminaires. Connected system overwrites selection.
- ECD, ECP: Jumper position is not relevant. Connected system overwrites selection.
- ECC: Do not remove jumper. These are 'maintained only' luminaires. Removal of jumper leads to loss of 'AC emergency mode' function.
- ELP: No jumper available. Connected system sets the switch mode.
Luminaire Marking (acc. IEC/EN 60598-2-22)
The luminaire marking provides information on its specifications:
Category | Details |
---|---|
Supply version | X: self-contained version Z: central battery version |
Mode of operation | 0: non-maintained mode 1: maintained mode |
Autonomy time | 60: 1 hour 120: 2 hours 180: 3 hours 480: 8 hours |
Facilities | A: including test device B: including remote rest mode C: including inhibiting mode D: high risk task area luminaire E: with non-replaceable lamp(s) and/or batteries F: Control gear with automatic test facility according to IEC 61347-2-7, marked with EL-T G: internally-lit safety sign |

OPTION: Emergency Lighting Self-contained (Battery)
⚠️ CAUTION: Lithium batteries included! OBSERVE Manufacturer's Safety Instructions!
Do not tamper with the rechargeable batteries and/or battery packs in any way. In principle, it can be assumed that lithium batteries are comparatively safe when handled properly.
Possible Hazards:
- Lithium batteries or lithium accumulators contain: Lithium or its compound (reacts violently)
- Flammable organic solvents
- Oxidising agents (fire promoters)
- Reactive halogen compounds
