Assembly Steps
Step 1: Parts Identification
Lay out all components and hardware. Verify against the diagrams. Key hardware includes:
- Cam Lock Screws: 118331 (14x), 146114 (24x)
- Dowels: 101345 (16x)
- Cam Locks: 105248 (4x), 119252/119250 (14x)
- Handles: 153548, 158568 (5x)
- Drawer Runners: 158672 L/R, 158674 L/R (4 pairs total)
- Drawer Slide Components: 10093081, 10093082 (14x total)
- Anti-tip Hardware: Brackets (106989, 2x), Screws (109049, 2x; 100823, 2x; 109048, 2x), Wall Plugs (121714, 2x)
- Back Panel Support: 158473 (1x)
Steps 2-15: Main Frame Construction
Assemble the main cabinet structure:
- Step 2: Attach drawer runners (158672 L/R, 158674 L/R) to side panels.
- Step 3: Connect bottom panels to side panels using dowels (101345) and cam lock screws (118331) with cam locks (105248).
- Step 4: Attach back support panel (158473).
- Step 5: Attach top panel using cam lock screws (146114) and cam locks (119252/119250).
- Steps 6-15: Continue assembling the main frame, connecting various panels using the provided hardware. Pay attention to the orientation of parts and the correct use of cam locks and screws as shown in diagrams.
Steps 16-20: Drawer Assembly
Construct the drawers:
- Steps 16-17: Assemble drawer boxes by connecting sides, front, and back panels with dowels and cam locks.
- Step 18: Insert drawer bottoms into grooves.
- Steps 19-20: Attach drawer slide components (10093081, 10093082) to the drawer sides.
Steps 21-27: Final Assembly and Drawer Insertion
Complete the unit:
- Steps 21, 23, 26: Insert assembled drawers into the main frame, aligning with runners.
- Step 25: Attach handles (153548, 158568) to drawer fronts.
- Step 27: Attach any remaining back panels.
Steps 28-31: Anti-Tip Device Installation
Crucial safety step to secure the furniture to the wall:
- Steps 23, 28, 30: Attach anti-tip brackets (106989) to the rear top edge of the chest using screws (109049, 100823).
- Step 17: Position the unit against the wall.
- Steps 24, 29, 30: Mark wall for drilling, install wall plugs (121714), and secure the unit to the wall with screws (109048).
