Important Safety Information

Read and follow each step of the instructions carefully.

Assembly Steps

Follow these steps to assemble your MALM chest of drawers:

Step 1: Prepare Base Panels

Attach metal brackets [10038685] (2x) to the base panels using dowels [101345] (8x) and screws [101345] (8x).

Step 2: Attach Side Panels to Base

Connect the side panels to the base panels using screws [118331] (10x) and cam lock bolts [155669] (4x) secured by cam locks [153548, 158568] (2x each).

Step 3: Attach Back Support Rails

Attach the back support rails [10038685] (2x) using cam lock bolts [155669] (2x) and cam locks [153548, 158568] (2x).

Step 4: Attach Front Support Rails

Attach the front support rails [10038685] (2x) using cam lock bolts [155669] (2x) and cam locks [153548, 158568] (2x).

Step 5: Connect Side Panels to Back Structure

Connect side panels to the back structure using dowels [101345] (4x) and cam lock bolts [155669] (4x) secured by cam locks [120076] (4x).

Step 6: Insert Dowels

Insert dowels [101345] (8x) into the designated holes on the side panels.

Step 7: Attach Top Panel

Attach the top panel using dowels [101345] (4x) and cam lock bolts [120076] (4x).

Step 8: Attach Another Side Panel

Attach another side panel using dowels [101345] (4x) and cam lock bolts [120076] (4x) secured by cam locks [120076] (4x).

Step 9: Attach Final Side Panel

Attach the final side panel using dowels [101345] (4x) and cam lock bolts [120076] (4x) secured by cam locks [120076] (4x).

Step 10: Place Top Panel

Carefully place the top panel onto the assembled structure, aligning it with the side panels.

Step 11: Secure Top Panel

Secure the top panel using cam lock bolts [155669] (8x) and cam locks [120076] (8x).

Step 12: Attach Back Panel

Attach the back panel using screws [101221] (27x).

Step 13: Attach Drawer Runners to Side Panels

Attach the drawer runners to the inside of the side panels using screws [100823] (4x) and [109048] (2x) per runner. Ensure correct orientation.

Step 14: Attach Anti-Tip Bracket

Attach the anti-tip bracket [326949] to the top rear edge of the furniture using screws [109049] (2x) and [106989] (2x).

Step 15-16: Assemble Drawer Boxes

Assemble the drawer boxes by connecting the drawer sides, back, and bottom panels using the provided hardware.

Step 17: Attach Drawer Front

Attach the drawer front to the assembled drawer box using screws [101345] (4x).

Step 18-19: Secure Drawer Front

Secure the drawer front using screws [101221] (1x each).

Step 20: Attach Drawer Bottom

Attach the drawer bottom using screws [101221] (27x).

Step 21: Insert Drawers

Slide the assembled drawers into the chest of drawers, aligning them with the runners.

Step 22: Final Check

Ensure all drawers slide smoothly and all connections are secure.

Step 23: Attach Drawer Runners to Unit

Attach the corresponding drawer runners to the inside of the chest of drawers using screws [100823] (2x) and [109048] (2x).

Wall Mounting Instructions

For safety, it is crucial to secure the furniture to the wall using the provided anti-tip device.

General Wall Mounting Guidelines:

• Ensure the wall material is suitable for the chosen fasteners.
• Use appropriate drill bits: Ø 8 mm (5/16") for anchors, Ø 3 mm (1/8") for pilot holes for screws.
• Step 1: Drill holes in the wall at the desired height.
• Step 2: Insert wall anchors (e.g., 70 mm length for Ø 8 mm anchors) into the drilled holes.
• Step 3: Attach the furniture to the wall using the provided bracket and screws, ensuring a secure connection.
