MALM Chest of 3 Drawers Assembly Instructions

Important Safety Information

WARNING: Children have died from furniture tipover. To reduce the risk of furniture tipover:

ALWAYS install the anti-tip device provided.

NEVER allow children to stand, climb, or hang on any drawers, doors, or shelves.
NEVER open more than one drawer at a time.
Place heaviest items in the lowest drawers.

Assembly Steps

Step 1

Insert dowels (101345) into the pre-drilled holes on the base panels. Screw cam bolts (118331) into the corresponding holes on the base panels.

Step 2

Attach the side panels to the base panels. Insert cam locks (117434, 119030, 120076) into the side panels and turn them to secure the connection with the cam bolts.

Step 3

Attach drawer runner brackets (10038685) to the inner sides of the side panels using screws (100823).

Attach drawer runners (153548, 158568) to the side panels.

Attach a support bracket (155669) to the base panel using screws (109049).

Insert dowels (101345) into the top ends of the vertical support pieces.

Attach the vertical support pieces to the base panel using dowels and cam locks.

Attach the side panels to the vertical support pieces using dowels and cam locks.

Attach the remaining side panel to the structure using cam lock assemblies.

Insert dowels (101345) into the top panel.

Secure the top panel to the assembled frame using cam lock assemblies.

Place the top panel onto the assembled frame.

Attach drawer handles (153548, 158568) to the drawer fronts using screws (117434, 119030, 120076).

Attach drawer runners to the sides of the drawer boxes using screws (109049).

Step 16

Attach the anti-tip bracket (326949) to the rear top edge of the unit using screws (106989, 100823).

Insert dowels (101345) into the top panel.

Secure the top panel with cam lock assemblies.

Step 19

Place the back panel onto the rear of the unit. Secure the back panel with screws (101221).

Continue securing the back panel with screws (101221).

Secure the back panel completely with screws (101221).

Insert the assembled drawers into the unit by aligning the runners.

Final check of the unit. Ensure drawers slide smoothly.

Wall Mounting (Anti-Tip Device)

IMPORTANT: Furniture must be permanently fixed to the wall with the provided anti-tip device to prevent tip-over accidents.

Instructions for Wall Mounting:

Select appropriate wall fixings for your wall type (e.g., for plasterboard, concrete, wood). If unsure, seek professional advice.
Drill holes in the wall using the appropriate drill bit size (Ø 8 mm / 5/16" for standard plugs, Ø 3 mm / 1/8" for pilot holes).
Insert wall plugs into the drilled holes.
Attach the bracket to the wall using screws.
Secure the furniture to the bracket using the provided hardware.
Ensure the connection is secure.
