Installation Steps
-
1. Measure Clearance
Measure the gap at the bottom of the door. The door shoe height should match this gap. If needed, trim the door or add a threshold to achieve proper clearance.
-
2. Trim Retainer and Gasketing
Remove the gasketing. Cut the retainer and gasketing to match the door width. Reinsert the gasketing and peen both ends to hold it in place.
-
3. Notch for Door Stop
Determine which side of the shoe will face the door stop. Notch the vertical legs at both ends of the shoe to clear the stop and allow proper fit.
-
4. Mount the Door Shoe
Position the shoe along the bottom edge of the door so it rests lightly on the threshold. Fasten it using the provided sheet metal screws, placing each screw in the center of the slotted holes to allow for adjustment. Once aligned, tighten all screws.
-
5. Test the Door
Open and close the door several times to ensure smooth operation. Adjust the shoe if needed to prevent interference with closing or latching.
