Installation Steps
- Measure Door Width: Measure the butt face of the door (hinge side) and note the width for cutting.
- Cut Brush and Retainer: Slide the brush out of the retainer. Cut the brush to size using wire cutters or pliers. Then cut the retainer to the same length. Reinsert the brush and peen both ends to keep it secure.
- Close the Door: Use a self-closing mechanism or manually shut the door before positioning the sweep.
- Position the Sweep: Hold the sweep against the butt face, resting lightly on the floor or threshold bevel to ensure a proper seal.
- Attach with Screws: Use the provided screws in the center of the slotted holes. This allows for adjustment. Don't tighten fully until all gasketing is in place.
- Test Operation: Open and close the door several times to ensure smooth closing and latching. Adjust if needed.
