Note: Google Play™ is a trademark of Google Inc. App Store™ is a service mark of Apple Inc.

App Permissions: To ensure proper functionality, please enable the following permissions:

  1. Allow ZUMIMALL to access mobile cellular data and wireless LAN. This is required for the camera to connect.
  2. Allow ZUMIMALL to receive pushed messages. This is necessary for receiving motion detection alarms.

Screenshots show the app interface for setting permissions.

4. Account Registration

New users must sign up for a ZUMIMALL account using the app. Follow these steps:

  1. Click 'Sign up' on the app's welcome screen.
  2. Enter your account details (email, password) and follow the prompts to complete registration.

Screenshots illustrate the registration process.

5. Camera Setup

5.1 Preparations for connection

  • Insert a Micro SD Card (up to 128GB, not included) to save video clips, or utilize the 7-day free cloud service. Video recording requires either an SD card or cloud service.
  • Fully charge the camera before its first use.
  • Connect your smartphone to the same 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi network that you intend to use for the camera. The camera exclusively supports 2.4G Wi-Fi and does not support 5G networks.

A diagram shows the ZUMIMALL GX1S camera, Wi-Fi routers labeled '2.4G ONLY', and a phone displaying Wi-Fi connection status.

5.2 Connect Camera to App

Follow these steps to connect your camera to the ZUMIMALL app:

  1. On the app's 'Devices' screen, tap the '+' icon to add a new device.
  2. Select 'Battery Camera' from the device list.
  3. Tap 'Next' on the 'Add Battery Camera' screen.
  4. Reset the device by holding the RESET button for 4-5 seconds until a red indicator light flashes, then tap 'Next'.
  5. Enter your Wi-Fi network name and password. Ensure you select a 2.4G network.
  6. Prepare for scanning: Remove any protective film from the camera lens. Tap 'Next' to display a QR code on your phone.
  7. Scan the QR code with the camera from a distance of 5-8 inches (15-25 cm). You will hear a tone when the scan is successful.
  8. The app will then connect the device to the network and register it.
  9. The installation is finished when the connection reaches 100%.

6. Camera Installation

  • For wooden walls, screw the mounting bracket directly onto the surface.
  • For cement or ceramic tile walls, drill holes, insert the provided expansion screws, and then fasten the bracket. Rotate the camera counterclockwise to detach it from the bracket.
  • It is recommended to test the Wi-Fi signal strength (aim for 80-85% or higher) at the desired installation location to ensure optimal camera performance.

7. Monitoring Area

Adjust the camera's angle so that the angle between the PIR sensor and moving objects is greater than 10 degrees. It is not recommended to position the PIR sensor vertically towards the moving objects.

Diagrams illustrate the recommended PIR sensor angle for effective motion detection.

8. Important Notes for Reducing False Alarms

To minimize false alarms, please observe the following:

  • Avoid installing the camera facing strong lights, mirrors, windows, or swimming pools.
  • Do not place the camera too close to areas with busy traffic.
  • The recommended detection distance for motion objects is within 10 meters (32 feet).
  • Keep the camera at least 1 meter away from other wireless devices (e.g., microwaves, Wi-Fi routers) to prevent interference.
  • Stay away from outlets such as air conditioner vents, humidifier outlets, or heat transfer vents from projectors.

11. PIR Body Detection

11.1 Body Detection Alarm Setting

The PIR 'Body Detection' feature is set to 'High' sensitivity by default but can be adjusted. Sensitivity levels affect the detecting distance:

  • Low Sensitivity: Detecting Distance up to 5 meters (16ft).
  • High Sensitivity: Detecting Distance up to 10 meters (32ft).

Higher sensitivity provides a longer detection range but may result in more alarms.

To configure motion detection:

  1. Tap the '...' menu on the live view screen.
  2. Select 'Alarm Setting'.
  3. Adjust the 'Motion Detection' settings, including sensitivity, day/night detection, and setting an 'Alert Plan' for specific alarm times.

Screenshots illustrate the process of accessing and configuring motion detection settings.

11.2 Alarm Notification

The camera is designed for motion-triggered recording, not continuous 24/7 recording. System reactions to detected motion include:

  • Alarm notifications with sounds from the App.
  • Pictures and videos automatically stored in the SD Card or Cloud.

11.3 Records/Playback/Delete

Access your recorded footage on the 'MESSAGES' page by clicking 'Alarm Messages'. From there, you can:

  • Click to Playback Alarm Video.
  • Click to Preview the Snapshot.
  • Click to Delete History.

Screenshots show the app interface for accessing and managing recorded videos and snapshots.

12. Two-Way Audio

Use the two-way audio feature by following these steps:

  1. Activate the audio option in the app.
  2. Press and hold the intercom button to speak.
  3. Release the button to listen.

A screenshot shows the app interface with the intercom function.

13. Battery Management

  • The camera is equipped with a built-in large capacity battery. Under typical usage (waking up 15 times per day), the battery can last 3-6 months after a full charge.
  • The recommended charger standard is DC 5V 1A/2A (charger not included). A full charge typically takes 8-16 hours.
  • When the battery level drops below 20%, the app will send a prompt message to remind you to charge the camera.

The camera's rear view indicates charging status: Light in Red means charging, Light in Blue means 100% charged. A diagram shows a USB cable connected for charging.

14. Multi Device Management

14.1 Multi Camera Management

The ZUMIMALL app allows you to manage multiple cameras from a single interface.

14.2 Multi-User Sharing

Notice: An App account cannot be logged into on multiple devices simultaneously, nor can one camera be connected to multiple App accounts. However, camera sharing between accounts is supported.

Sharing Process:

  1. Create a new App account (Account B) and log in on another phone.
  2. On the main phone (Account A), click 'share' for the desired camera.
  3. Use Account A to scan the QR code generated by Account B, or input Account B's ID.
  4. Accept the sharing invitation on Account B and refresh the page to view the shared camera.

Screenshots illustrate managing multiple cameras and the device sharing feature.

15. Reset

To reset the camera:

  1. In the ZUMIMALL app, navigate to the device settings and select the option to remove the device.
  2. Press and hold the reset button on the camera for 5-10 seconds until you hear a 'Boogu' sound, indicating it has been reset to factory settings.
  3. Reconnect the camera as a new device through the app.

Screenshots show the app interface for removing a device and adding a new one.

16. Storage Methods

16.1 Micro SD Card

If you choose to save videos using a Micro SD Card, please ensure:

  • The card is a Micro SD Card with a transfer speed of at least 10MB/S (Class 10).
  • The camera supports Micro SD Cards up to 128GB.
  • The SD Card must be inserted while the camera is powered off; otherwise, it may not be detected.
  • The card supports recycling, meaning the newest video will automatically overwrite the oldest when the card is full.

16.2 Cloud Storage

  • Each camera comes with a 7-day free trial for Cloud service. You can choose to continue the subscription afterward.
  • Subscription fees are based on the camera ID, not the App account. If you have multiple cameras, each requires a separate subscription.
