General Precautions
- Do not expose the watch to extreme temperatures.
- Handle the watch with care and avoid dropping it.
- Do not fasten the strap too tightly; a finger should fit between your wrist and the strap.
- Clean the watch and strap with a dry soft cloth, or a soft cloth dampened with a mild neutral detergent solution. Never use volatile agents like gasoline, solvents, spray cleaners, etc.
- Store the watch in a dry place when not in use.
- Avoid contact with gasoline, cleaning solvents, spray aerosols, adhesives, paints, etc., as chemical reactions can damage gaskets, cases, and finishes.
- Be careful when cleaning straps with silk-screened graphics to avoid damaging the designs.
Important Information
Battery
The battery installed at the factory may discharge during shipping and storage. If you notice signs of low power (dim display), replace the battery at an authorized CASIO service center or dealer.
Water Resistance
For all categories of watches, do not:
- Press buttons underwater.
- Set hands underwater.
- Unscrew the crown underwater.
If the watch is exposed to saltwater, rinse it thoroughly and dry it.
Do not wear watches with leather straps while swimming. Avoid prolonged contact of leather straps with water.
For Watches with Plastic Straps
A white powdery substance may appear on the strap. This is harmless and can be removed by wiping with a cloth. Sweat or moisture, or storage in high humidity, can damage, break, or crack plastic straps. Wipe off dirt and moisture promptly with a soft cloth for longevity.
For Watches with Fluorescent Cases and Straps
Prolonged direct sunlight can cause fluorescent colors to fade. Prolonged contact with moisture can also cause fading; wipe off any moisture as soon as possible. Contact with other moist surfaces can cause discoloration. Ensure fluorescent surfaces are dry and avoid contact with other surfaces.
Friction with other surfaces can transfer fluorescent paint. Condensation may form on the inside of the glass due to temperature changes; this is normal and not a defect.
CASIO COMPUTER CO., LTD. is not responsible for any damage incurred while using these watches and does not accept claims from third parties.
Water Resistance Classification
Watches are classified from Class I to V based on their water resistance. Refer to the table below for correct usage:
Class | Case Marking | Splashes, Rain, Washing | Swimming, Skin Diving | Scuba Diving |
---|---|---|---|---|
I | None | No | No | No |
II | WATER RESISTANT | Yes | No | No |
III | 50 M WATER RESISTANT | Yes | Yes | No |
IV | 100 M WATER RESISTANT | Yes | Yes | Yes |
V | 200 M WATER RESISTANT / 300 M WATER RESISTANT | Yes | Yes | Yes |
Notes:
- Class I watches are not water-resistant. Avoid all moisture.
- WR (Water Resistant) means water-resistant according to ISO 2281. Brief water contact is acceptable.
- 5 Bar (50 meters) water resistance allows use during showers and brief swimming.
- 10 Bar (100 meters) water resistance allows use during normal swimming and snorkeling.
- 20 Bar (200 meters) water resistance allows use for scuba diving (excluding depths requiring helium-oxygen mixtures).
Watch Care
- Never attempt to open the case or remove the back cover yourself.
- The rubber gasket protecting against water and dust should be replaced every 2-3 years.
- If moisture enters the watch, have it checked immediately by a dealer or CASIO distributor.
