INSTEON On/Off Module 2635-222 Quick Start Guide
Product Overview
This document provides a quick start guide for the INSTEON On/Off Module, model 2635-222. This module allows you to remotely control appliances connected to it via the INSTEON Hub and App.
Module Components
The INSTEON On/Off Module includes the following key indicators and controls:
- Status LED: Indicates the module's operational status. A green light typically signifies 'On', while a red light signifies 'Off'.
- Set Button: Used for linking the module to your INSTEON Hub.
The module is designed to control various appliances, such as lights [light bulb], fans [fan], and heaters [radiator].
Installation
To install the INSTEON On/Off Module:
- Plug your appliance into the bottom outlet of the On/Off Module.
- Plug the On/Off Module into an unswitched wall outlet. An unswitched outlet provides continuous power, ensuring the module remains online.
Appliance Switch Requirement
For the INSTEON On/Off Module to remotely control your appliance, the appliance's own physical power switch must be in the 'ON' position. If the appliance's switch is OFF, the module cannot turn it on remotely.
Linking to the INSTEON Hub
Follow these steps to add your On/Off Module to your INSTEON Hub:
Step 1: Initiate Linking
Open the INSTEON Hub app on your smartphone or tablet. Follow the on-screen instructions to add a new device. This typically involves tapping an 'add device' or '+' icon [add device icon].
Step 2: Activate Module
Ensure your connected appliance is powered on. When prompted by the INSTEON Hub app, press and hold the Set Button on the INSTEON On/Off Module until it responds (indicated by a sound or light change [notification icon]).
If you are using a hardware controller instead of the INSTEON Hub app, refer to the instructions provided with your specific hardware controller.
Device Control
Once linked, you can control your appliance remotely using the INSTEON Hub and the INSTEON App. This includes turning the appliance ON or OFF, setting schedules, and creating custom scenes.
