YITAMOTOR Towing Mirrors Installation Guide
This guide provides detailed installation instructions for YITAMOTOR Left and Right Driver Side Towing Mirrors.
Compatible Vehicles: Chevy GMC 1999-2006 Silverado, Sierra, 2000-2006 Tahoe, Suburban 1500, 2500, and Yukon XL models.
Key Features: Manual Folding, Asymmetrical Design. Power fold, Memory, and Auto-Dimming functions are not available.
Model Numbers: CETM-0075, CETM-0076, CETM-0071, CETM-0072.
General Notes Before Installation
- Read these instructions carefully before starting installation.
- Verify your vehicle's trim level (uplevel trim vs. premium trim) before proceeding.
- All mirrors are designed asymmetrically for an improved view range.
- For vehicles without factory heat and signal light functions, additional wiring may be required.
- Power fold, Memory, and Auto-Dimming functions are not supported by these mirrors.
- Proper tools will improve the quality of installation and reduce the time required.
- If any parts are missing or damaged, please take a picture and contact customer support.
- Refer to your vehicle's owner's manual for instructions on adjusting the new mirrors.
Installation Steps
The installation process involves removing the factory mirror and installing the new YITAMOTOR towing mirror. Steps may vary slightly based on vehicle trim.
Step 1: Removing the Factory Mirror
This process typically involves removing interior door trim panels to access the mirror mounting bolts.
For Uplevel Trim with Door Push Handle:
- Open the front door and remove the upper extension triangular trim panel.
- Pry up the push handle cover and remove the two 10mm bolts located behind it.
- Remove the push handle.
- Release the door control panel and disconnect the electrical connectors.
- Pry up the detent tab from the lock rod knob and remove the lock rod (labeled '1' in diagrams).
- Remove the door handle bezel (labeled '2') and the inner door handle trim panel (labeled '3').
- Remove three 10mm bolts securing the mirror assembly.
- Carefully remove the door trim panel assembly (labeled '5' or '6' in diagrams) by pulling it away from the door panel to disengage the retainers (labeled '6' or '8').
- Disengage the door cable from its retaining clip (labeled '7') by pulling it out and away.
For Premium Trim without Door Push Handle:
- Open the front door and remove the upper extension triangular trim panel.
- Release the door control panel and disconnect the electrical connectors.
- Pry up the detent tab from the lock rod knob and remove the lock rod (labeled '1').
- Remove the door handle bezel (labeled '4') and release retainer (labeled '3') to remove the inner door handle trim panel (labeled '2').
- Remove three 10mm bolts.
- Remove the door trim panel assembly (labeled '6') by pulling it away from the door panel to disengage the retainers (labeled '8').
- Disengage the door cable from its retaining clip (labeled '7') by pulling it out and away.
General Mirror Removal (Alternative/Simplified Steps):
- Open the front door to remove the upper extension triangular trim panel.
- Remove the foam pad from the door sheet panel.
- Remove three 10mm hex nuts securing the factory mirror.
- Carefully remove the factory mirror.
Step 2: Installing the New Towing Mirror
- Take the new mirror and feed its studs and harness through the existing holes on the door panel.
- Install the three provided hex nuts to secure the new mirror. Torque the nuts to 80 lb-in.
- Connect the mirror connectors to the appropriate door harness.
- Note for Uplevel Trim: Connect the mirror connectors to the door harness.
- Note for Premium Trim: Connect the mirror connectors to the door switch panel.
- Insert the foam pad into the door sheet and reinstall the upper extension triangular trim panel.
Step 3: Completing the Installation
- Repeat the installation steps on the passenger side of the vehicle.
- To complete the installation, follow the reverse order of the removal steps to reinstall all door trim components.
- Carefully check all mirror functions (e.g., manual folding, mirror adjustment) before driving.
- For vehicles equipped with memory and tilt functions, it is recommended to disable these functions via the vehicle's driver information center to avoid potential conflicts or errors.
