Product Overview

The BEGA 50 847.4 STUDIO LINE is an indoor ceiling luminaire designed as a downlight or spot light. It features asymmetrical light distribution, allowing for precise illumination. The luminaire can be continuously rotated 360° around its vertical axis, and it offers a wide radiation angle of 130°.

Dimensions and Design:

The fixture has a cast aluminium housing with a velvet black finish and a matt brass interior. The trim ring is finished in chrome. A light-diffusing silicone lens and a reflector made of pure anodised aluminium are incorporated.

Safety and Protection

General Safety: Installation and operation of this luminaire must comply with national safety regulations. Installation and commissioning should only be performed by a qualified electrician. BEGA is not liable for damages resulting from improper use or installation. Any subsequent modifications to the luminaire will render the modifier responsible as the manufacturer.

Overvoltage Protection: The electronic components are protected against overvoltage according to DIN EN 61547. For enhanced protection against transients, separate overvoltage protection components are recommended. These can be found on the BEGA website.

Installation Instructions

Important Note: LEDs are high-quality electronic components. Avoid touching the light output opening of the LED directly during installation or relamping.

1. Remove the mounting plate from the luminaire housing.
2. Unplug the earth conductor connection (plug contact).
3. Lead the power connecting cable through the mounting plate.
4. Fix the mounting plate securely onto the mounting surface using the provided or other suitable fixing material.
5. Make the earth conductor connection.
6. Push silicone sleeves over the lines and make the electrical connection.
7. For digital control (DALI), connect the two loose terminals marked DA, DA. If these terminals are not connected, the luminaire will operate at full light output.
8. Establish the earth conductor connection to the luminaire housing (plug contact).
9. Press the luminaire housing firmly against the mounting plate and turn it clockwise until it stops.
10. Screw the enclosed trim ring with the attached reflector into the luminaire housing by turning it clockwise.
11. To adjust the beam direction of the LED, the luminaire can now be rotated continuously 360° around the vertical luminaire axis.

Cleaning and Maintenance

Cleaning: Clean the luminaire regularly with dirt using solvent-free cleansers.

LED Module Replacement:

• The designation of the LED module is noted on a label inside the luminaire.
• BEGA replacement modules match the original modules in light colour and light output.
• Module replacement can be performed by qualified persons using standard tools.
• Procedure:
  1. Disconnect the electrical installation (ensure power is off).
  2. Open the luminaire.
  3. Follow the specific installation instructions for the LED module.
  4. Close the luminaire.
