Safety
The installation and operation of this luminaire are subject to national safety regulations. Installation and commissioning may only be carried out by a qualified electrician. The manufacturer accepts no liability for damage caused by improper use or installation. If subsequent modifications are made to the luminaire, the person responsible for these modifications shall be considered the manufacturer.
Overvoltage Protection
The electronic components installed in the luminaire are protected against overvoltage in accordance with DIN EN 61547. To achieve additional protection against e.g. transients, separate overvoltage protection components are recommended. These can be found on the BEGA website at www.bega.com.
Installation
Important: LEDs are high-quality electronic components! Please avoid touching the light output opening of the LED directly during installation or relamping.
- Disassemble the LED module.
- Loosen the LED connection and earth connection (plug connection).
- Prepare the mains supply cable: strip max. 80 mm.
- Feed the mains supply cable through the cable entry into the luminaire housing.
- Fix the luminaire housing to the mounting surface using the enclosed or other suitable fixing material. Ensure enclosed gaskets are used.
- Make the earth conductor connection.
- Push silicone sleeves over the lines and make the electrical connection.
- Make the earth connection between the LED module and luminaire housing (plug connection).
- Push the plug into the coupler as far as it will go.
- Assemble the LED module.
- Tighten the screws evenly (max. 0.8 Nm). Please observe that the LED module is not damaged mechanically.
- ATTENTION! It is mandatory to make sure not to damage the wires while fixing the opal glass.
- Insert the opal glass into the luminaire housing with the sliding-bolt glass closure.
- Turn the glass clockwise beyond any initial resistance, until it is locked. This ensures a safe and vibration-resistant holding of the glass.
- To release the glass from the luminaire housing, turn it counter-clockwise.
Maintenance and Replacement
The designation of the LED module is noted on a label inside the luminaire.
- BEGA replacement modules correspond to the original modules in light colour and light output.
- The module can be replaced by qualified persons using standard tools.
- Disconnect the system (power off).
- Unscrew the glass from the luminaire housing by turning it counter-clockwise.
- Clean the glass and luminaire regularly with solvent-free cleansers.
- Please follow the installation instructions for the LED module.
- Screw the glass back into the luminaire housing by turning it clockwise as far as it will go.
- A broken glass must be replaced.
