Installation
Important Notes:
- The luminaire housing must not be installed in heat-insulating material.
- A separate power supply unit is required for operation.
- Connection is made via two 2-pin connectors to BEGA power supply units (e.g., 13179 for on/off, 13175 for DALI). Refer to the power supply unit's instructions.
- Handle LED components with care; avoid touching the light output surface directly with hands.
Installation Steps:
- Ensure the installation opening (Ø 450 mm, min. depth 165 mm) is prepared in the suspended ceiling.
- Guide the external LED power supply unit through the ceiling opening and position it.
- Insert the luminaire housing into the ceiling opening.
- Secure the housing using the three adjustable springs. Tighten the Torx (T20) screws evenly. The springs will engage behind the ceiling panel (9-25 mm thickness). Reinforce the ceiling panel from the back if its thickness is less than 3 mm.
- Connect the two 2-pin connectors between the luminaire and the LED power supply unit.
- Carefully unpack the LED module (using provided gloves) and insert it into the luminaire housing, aligning with the keyholes.
- Turn the LED module anticlockwise until it stops and evenly tighten the screws (T10).
- Place the synthetic diffuser onto the luminaire housing, ensuring the cam pins align with the notches.
- Secure the diffuser by turning it clockwise. This ensures a safe and vibration-resistant fit.
- To remove the diffuser, turn it counter-clockwise.
Note on Overvoltage Protection: The luminaire's electronic components are protected against overvoltage per DIN EN 61547. For additional protection against transients, separate overvoltage protection components are recommended and available at www.bega.com.
LED Module Replacement
The designation of the LED module is noted on a label inside the luminaire. BEGA replacement modules match the original light color and output. Replacement can be performed by qualified persons using standard tools.
- Disconnect the power supply.
- Unscrew the synthetic diffuser by turning it counter-clockwise.
- Follow the specific installation instructions for the LED module.
- Screw the synthetic diffuser back in by turning it clockwise.
- A defective synthetic diffuser must be replaced.
