Start Up Your Device

To start your device, ensure the power supply is plugged into an electrical outlet. It is highly recommended to use an Uninterruptible Power Supply (UPS) with the device.

1. Select a Language

Upon startup, a language selection screen will appear. Available languages include: English, Français, Español, Deutsch, ไทย (Thai), العربية (Arabic), Italiano, Türkçe (Turkish), Magyar (Hungarian), and tiếng Việt (Vietnamese). Select your preferred language and click 'OK'.

2. Login

The default username is 'admin', and the default password is '123456'. After logging in with the default password, you will be required to set a strong password for security reasons. A system message will prompt: "Enhanced password mode has been enabled. Please set a strong password first."

3. Set a New Password

Old Password: 123456
New Password: Create a new password (recommended to include numbers, letters, and special characters).
Confirm: Input the new password again.
Email: It is recommended to enter your email address for password reset in case you forget it in the future.

4. Set Pattern

Set an unlock pattern for the XVR for easier local access, eliminating the need to type the password every time. Draw the unlock pattern and confirm it.

System Wizard

After the device starts up, a wizard will guide you through initial settings, including date and time, network settings, HDD initializing, and IP camera detection. If manual setup is preferred, click "Exit".

Date and Time

The wizard allows configuration of Time Zone (e.g., UTC-08:00 Pacific Standard Time), Date Format (e.g., YYYY-MM-DD), Time Format (e.g., 24-hour), and System Time.

Network Setting

1. Enable DHCP

Navigate to Network > Basic > TCP/IP. Enable "DHCP" so the XVR automatically obtains an IP address after connecting to the router.

2. Enable P2P for Remote View

Navigate to Network > P2P. Enable "P2P". The server address is www.star4live.com. The Register Code and Device Status will be displayed. If the Device Status is "Network connected...", the device is online and ready for remote view. Refer to the "Setup on Mobile APP Guard Viewer" section (Page 27 of the original manual). If the status is "Offline", check the network connection first. If problems persist, contact Hiseeu at Love@Hiseeu.com. Scan the QR code with the app to add the device.

Live View

The live view displays feeds from connected cameras. If a camera is offline, it will show "Offline camera (Network disconnected)". Right-click the mouse to bring up the menu, then click on "Menu" to navigate to the system control panel.

Icon Explanation

The XVR interface uses various icons to represent functions:

Menu Bar Icons:

Recording Indicators:

Common Alarm Configuration

Motion Detection

Motion detection identifies object movement within a specified rectangular area over a period. You need to set a detection area and sensitivity for the camera to determine when to report a motion detection alarm.

  1. Navigate to Alarm > Motion > Enable.
  2. Left-click and drag the mouse in the camera preview image to customize the detection area.

Important: Motion Detection (Alarm) and Smart Motion Detection (VCA) cannot be configured simultaneously. If you cannot configure motion detection (Alarm), ensure Smart Motion Detection is disabled.

Smart Motion Detection

Smart Motion Detection detects motor vehicles, non-motor vehicles, and pedestrians within a configured area.

  1. Navigate to Alarm > Smart Motion Detection.
  2. Enable the feature.
  3. Click the "draw" icon (a square with a pen) to define the alarm area (maximum 4 points; double-click to finish). To delete an area, click the "trash can" icon.

You can enable or disable "Motor Vehicle" or "Pedestrian" detection as needed. The sensitivity is adjustable.

Privacy Mask

In certain situations, you may need to set a mask area on the camera image to protect privacy, such as the keyboard of an ATM machine. If the camera's position changes, the Privacy Mask will not adjust automatically; you must reset the area.

  1. Navigate to Camera > Privacy Mask.
  2. Click the "draw" icon (a square with a pen) to define the privacy area. To delete an area, click the "trash can" icon.

VCA Behavior Search

"Behavior Search" allows you to search VCA (Video Content Analytics) data, including Smart Motion Detection events (Motor Vehicle, Pedestrian). You must set and save VCA configurations before using "Behavior Search".

  1. Click on VCA > Behavior Search.
  2. Select camera(s), set a search period, and choose a search type and target type, then click "Search".
  3. View search results in a chart or table. Backup search results (images and recordings) as needed. To view videos recorded when behavior was detected (approximately 10 seconds before and after), click the play button.

Recording Setting

Before setting up a recording plan, ensure the hard drive is functioning properly. Navigate to Storage > Hard Disk. The status should be "Normal" and the property should be "Read/Write".

Regular Recording

The system is set up for 24/7 continuous recording by default. If motion detection recording is enabled, the recording type will be highlighted during video playback on the XVR.

  1. Select the camera.
  2. Left-click the mouse to highlight "Motion".
  3. Left-click and hold the mouse to draw the detection time period on the schedule grid.

Before You Start

  1. Insert a USB disk into the XVR USB port. Navigate to Backup > Recording.
  2. Select the Camera, time period, and recording type as needed. Click "Search".
  3. Click the "play" icon (a triangle) to preview the footage. Select the desired file(s) and click "Backup" to transfer the video to the USB device.

Pan/Tilt Function

(CAUTIONS: Only Hiseeu PT Mini Cameras support Pan/Tilt function)

Right-click your mouse to navigate to Camera > PTZ. Control the camera by clicking the icons shown in the interface. The PTZ configuration includes options for Preset Name, Preset Patrol, Zoom, Focus, and Iris.

Note: Hiseeu PT Mini Cameras support one-way radio on the TVI model. To change the Camera Model to "TVI", refer to the video about changing camera "VIDEO SETTING" to "TVI". A QR code is provided in the original manual that links to this instructional video. The QR code is a square pattern of black and white modules, which encodes information for accessing the video tutorial on how to change the camera's video setting to TVI mode.

Reset XVR Password

Modify XVR Password

If you know your current password and only wish to change it:

  1. Navigate to System > User.
  2. Click the "edit" icon (a pencil) next to the user whose password you wish to change.
  3. Input your current password to confirm, then set the new password.

Retrieve XVR Password

If you forget your current password:

  1. In the system login interface, click on "Forget Pattern" > "Forget Password".
  2. If a reserved email was set previously, use that email address to register a "Guard Viewer" APP account. Navigate to Me > General > Forget Device Password within the app. Scan the QR code displayed on the XVR screen to obtain the security code for password reset.

Restore to Factory Settings

If the XVR system is not working properly, you can restore it to factory default settings.

  1. Navigate to Maintenance > Restore > Factory Default.

Important: Before returning an item to Amazon for security concerns, restore the system to "Factory Default" settings. This will erase all personal information (video footage, snapshots, email accounts, etc.).

Alternatively, you can navigate to Storage > Hard Disk, select the HDD, and click on "Format" to erase data.
