The Hiseeu YS Digital Video Recorder System package includes:
If any part is missing or damaged, contact Hiseeu support.
The XVR (eXtended Video Recorder) system comes in 8-port and 16-port TVI XVR configurations. Below are the common connection points:
IMPORTANT: To record and play historical videos, a Hard Disk Drive (HDD) must be installed. Without an HDD, only live video can be viewed. This DVR does not include a hard disk drive. The system works with 2.5" and 3.5" SATA Hard Drives, which must be formatted after installation.
Unscrew the screws and remove the upper cover of the DVR.
(Diagram shows DVR with cover removed, revealing internal components and screws.)
Connect the SATA power cable and data cable from the DVR to the corresponding ports on the Hard Disk Drive.
(Diagram shows internal DVR with cables connected to an external hard drive.)
Hold the Hard Drive and the DVR together, carefully turn them over, then align the screw holes on the Hard Drive with the screw holes on the DVR housing.
(Diagram shows the hard drive being aligned with the DVR housing's screw holes.)
Fix the Hard Disk Drive and DVR housing with the provided screws, then assemble the upper cover of the DVR.
(Diagram shows the hard drive secured inside the DVR housing with screws, and the cover being reattached.)
Do not fix the TVI camera before viewing the image on the monitor and confirming the ideal installation position.
Plug a power adapter into the XVR and the electrical socket to power on the XVR.
(Diagram shows a power adapter connected to the XVR and a power outlet.)
Connect a monitor to the HD Output (HDMI) or VGA Output on the XVR using an HDMI cable or VGA cable (not included).
(Diagram shows an XVR connected to a monitor via HDMI or VGA cable.)
Connect the Ethernet Cable from the XVR to your router.
(Diagram shows an XVR connected to a router via an Ethernet cable.)
Connect the TVI camera with the BNC Cable.
(Diagram shows a TVI camera connected to a BNC cable.)
Connect the Blue Video Connector to the BNC Video Input on the XVR, and connect the Red Power Connector to the Male Connector of the Power Cable Splitter.
(Diagram shows the BNC video connector and power connector being attached to the XVR and power splitter.)
Connect the Female Connector of the Power Cable Splitter with another power adapter. Then plug the power adapter into the socket to power on the camera.
(Diagram shows the power cable splitter connected to a power adapter, which is then plugged into a socket to power the camera.)
To start your device, ensure the power supply is plugged into an electrical outlet. It is highly recommended to use an Uninterruptible Power Supply (UPS) with the device.
Upon startup, a language selection menu will appear. Choose your preferred language.
(Screenshot shows a "Language Selection" dialog with a list of languages including English, Français, Español, Deutsch, ภาสุทอส, العربية, Italiano, Türkçe, Magyar, tiếng Việt, and "tiếng Việt" highlighted.)
The default username is "admin", and the default password is "123456".
(Screenshot shows a login screen with fields for username and password. Another screenshot shows a "System Message" indicating "Enhanced password mode has been enabled. Please set a strong password first.")
After logging in with the default password, you will be required to set a strong password for security reasons.
Old Password: 123456
New Password: Create a new password (recommended to include numbers, letters, and special characters).
Confirm: Input the new password again.
Email: It is recommended to enter an email address for password reset in case you forget it in the future.
(Screenshot shows a "Change Password" interface with fields for Username, Old Password, New Password, Confirm, and Email. A "Strong" indicator is visible for the new password field.)
Set a pattern to unlock the XVR for easy local access, eliminating the need to type the password every time. Draw the unlock pattern and confirm it.
(Screenshot shows a "Set Pattern" interface with a 3x3 grid for drawing an unlock pattern.)
After device startup, the wizard guides you through initial settings, including date and time, network settings, HDD initializing, and IP camera detection. To set up manually, click "Exit".
(Screenshot shows a "Wizard" progress bar with steps: Wizard, Time, TCP/IP.)
Configure the Time Zone, Date Format, Time Format, and System Time.
(Screenshot shows the "Time" step of the wizard with options for Time Zone, Date Format, Time Format, and System Time.)
Enable "DHCP" for the XVR to automatically obtain an IP address when connected to the router via network cable.
Internet connection is necessary for remote access to the XVR from a mobile app or PC client.
(Screenshot shows the "TCP/IP" step of the wizard with network settings, including "Enable DHCP" checkbox, IP Address, Subnet Mask, IP Default Gateway, MAC Address, and MTU.)
(Screenshot shows a multi-camera live view interface with four "Offline camera (Network disconnected)" placeholders.)
Right-click the mouse to bring up the menu, then click "Menu" to navigate to the system control panel.
This section explains the common icons found in the XVR interface.
Navigate to Network > Basic > TCP/IP. Enable "DHCP" so the XVR automatically obtains an IP address after connecting to the router.
(Screenshot shows the "Network > Basic > TCP/IP" configuration screen with "Enable DHCP" checked.)
Navigate to Network > P2P. Enable "P2P". The "Device Status" should show "Network connected..." indicating the device is online and ready for remote viewing. If the status is "Offline", check the network connection. If problems persist, contact Hiseeu support at Love@Hiseeu.com.
(Screenshot shows the "Network > P2P" configuration screen with "Enable P2P" checked, displaying Server Address, Register Code, and Device Status. A QR code for adding the device to the app is also shown.)
For mobile app setup ("Guard Viewer"), refer to page 27 of the original manual.
Motion detection identifies object movement within a specified rectangular area during a set period. You must define a detection area and sensitivity for the camera to report a motion detection alarm.
(Screenshot shows the "Alarm > Motion" configuration screen with a camera preview and options to enable motion detection and draw detection areas.)
Motion Detection (Alarm) and Smart Motion Detection (VCA) cannot be configured simultaneously. If you cannot configure motion detection (Alarm), ensure smart motion detection is disabled.
Smart Motion Detection detects motor vehicles, non-motor vehicles, and pedestrians within a configured area.
(Screenshot shows the "Alarm > Smart Motion Detection" configuration screen with options to enable, draw, and delete detection areas, and sensitivity settings.)
You can enable or disable "Motor Vehicle" or "Pedestrian" detection as needed. Sensitivity is adjustable.
To protect privacy, you may need to set a mask area on the camera image, such as for an ATM machine keyboard. If the camera's position changes, the Privacy Mask will not adjust automatically; you must reset the privacy mask area.
(Screenshot shows the "Camera > Privacy Mask" configuration screen with options to enable privacy mask, draw, and clear areas.)
"Behavior Search" allows searching VCA (Video Content Analytics) data, including Smart Motion Detection (Motor Vehicle, Pedestrian) events. You must set and save VCA configurations before using "Behavior Search".
(Screenshot shows the "VCA > Behavior Search" interface with search filters for camera, time, event type, and object type. Another screenshot shows search results displayed in a timeline format with playback controls.)
Before setting up a recording plan, ensure the hard drive is functioning properly. Navigate to Storage > Hard Disk. The status should be "Normal" and "Read/Write".
The system is set up for 24/7 continuous recording by default. If motion detection recording is enabled, it will highlight the recording type during video playback on the XVR.
(Screenshot shows the "Storage > Recording Schedule" interface with a daily schedule grid, indicating different recording types by color.)
Recording Type Legend:
Motion Detection recording only records when an object is detected moving. You can set up a record plan for each camera individually.
Event recording will only occur when VCA and Smart Motion Detection are triggered. You can set up a record plan for each camera individually.
(Screenshot shows the "Storage > Recording Schedule" interface, similar to Regular Recording, but highlighting "Event" for Smart Motion Detection recording.)
On each camera's live view window, click the "Play" icon (a triangle) to play back video from the recent 5 minutes.
(Screenshot shows a live camera view with a play icon overlay.)
Right-click the mouse from the XVR home screen and click on "Playback".
(Screenshot shows the main menu with "Playback" highlighted.)
Select the date from the calendar.
Select the camera (maximum 4 channels supported for simultaneous playback).
(Screenshot shows the playback interface with a calendar, camera selection list, and a timeline.)
Timeline Legend:
Click on "Video Retrieval" in the playback interface to more effectively playback video based on VCA events.
It allows you to search for specific event type results in a short video list for preview.
(Screenshot shows the "Video Retrieval" interface with search filters for Smart Motion Detection, camera, and time, displaying a list of event clips.)
Playback Control Icons:
(Screenshot shows the "Backup > Recording" interface with search filters for camera, time, and recording type.)
(Screenshot shows the "Backup" interface with a list of recorded files on the USB device, including options for refresh, format, backup, and cancel.)
CAUTIONS: Only AHD and TVI Cameras support Pan/Tilt function.
Right-click your mouse and navigate to Camera > PTZ. Control the camera by clicking the directional icons (up, down, left, right, zoom in, zoom out, focus, iris).
(Screenshot shows the "Camera > PTZ Configuration" interface with PTZ controls and preset patrol settings.)
Hiseeu PT Mini Cameras support one-way audio on the TVI model. To change the Camera Model to "TVI" for video settings, refer to the video guide. (The QR code for the video guide is omitted as per instructions.)
If you know your current password and wish to change it, follow these instructions:
(Screenshot shows the "System > User" interface with a list of users and an "Edit" icon next to each.)
(Screenshot shows a password authentication dialog with a virtual keyboard.)
(Screenshot shows the "Change Password" interface with fields for Username, Old Password, New Password, Confirm, Sync to Camera, Pattern, and Email.)
If you forget your current password, follow these instructions to reset it:
(Screenshot shows a login screen with "Forgot Password?" option and a pattern unlock screen with "Enter Password" option.)
(Screenshot shows the "Retrieve Password" interface with Serial No., Email, Security Code, and instructions for Guard Live/Guard Viewer app.)
If you did not set up an email or have difficulties resetting the password, email Hiseeu at Love@Hiseeu.com.
If the XVR system is not working properly, you can restore it to factory default settings.
(Screenshot shows the "Maintenance > Restore" interface with options for "Default" and "Factory Default" restore.)
Before returning your item to Amazon for security concerns, restore the system to "Factory Default" settings. This will erase personal information (video footage, snapshots, email account, etc.). Alternatively, navigate to Storage > Hard Disk, select the HDD, and click "Format".
