XVR Diagram

The XVR (eXtended Video Recorder) system comes in 8-port and 16-port TVI XVR configurations. Below are the common connection points:

Common Ports and Functions:

  1. BNC Video Input: Connects to Camera (AHD/TVI/CVI/CVBS).
  2. HDMI Output: Connects to a monitor with an HDMI Port.
  3. Ethernet Port: Connects to a Wi-Fi Router/PoE Switch via an Ethernet cable.
  4. DC In: Connects to the Power Adapter.
  5. USB Ports: Used for USB Mouse and USB Flash Drives for video backup.
  6. VGA Output: Connects to a monitor with a VGA Port.
  7. Audio Input: Not supported by cameras without audio function.
  8. Audio Output: Not supported by cameras without audio function.

Hard Drive Installation and System Connections

Hard Drive Installation

IMPORTANT: To record and play historical videos, a Hard Disk Drive (HDD) must be installed. Without an HDD, only live video can be viewed. This DVR does not include a hard disk drive. The system works with 2.5" and 3.5" SATA Hard Drives, which must be formatted after installation.

Step 1:

Unscrew the screws and remove the upper cover of the DVR.

(Diagram shows DVR with cover removed, revealing internal components and screws.)

Step 2:

Connect the SATA power cable and data cable from the DVR to the corresponding ports on the Hard Disk Drive.

(Diagram shows internal DVR with cables connected to an external hard drive.)

Step 3:

Hold the Hard Drive and the DVR together, carefully turn them over, then align the screw holes on the Hard Drive with the screw holes on the DVR housing.

(Diagram shows the hard drive being aligned with the DVR housing's screw holes.)

Step 4:

Fix the Hard Disk Drive and DVR housing with the provided screws, then assemble the upper cover of the DVR.

(Diagram shows the hard drive secured inside the DVR housing with screws, and the cover being reattached.)

System Connections

Do not fix the TVI camera before viewing the image on the monitor and confirming the ideal installation position.

  1. Plug a power adapter into the XVR and the electrical socket to power on the XVR.

(Diagram shows a power adapter connected to the XVR and a power outlet.)

  2. Connect a monitor to the HD Output (HDMI) or VGA Output on the XVR using an HDMI cable or VGA cable (not included).

(Diagram shows an XVR connected to a monitor via HDMI or VGA cable.)

  3. Connect the Ethernet Cable from the XVR to your router.

(Diagram shows an XVR connected to a router via an Ethernet cable.)

  4. Connect the TVI camera with the BNC Cable.

(Diagram shows a TVI camera connected to a BNC cable.)

  5. Connect the Blue Video Connector to the BNC Video Input on the XVR, and connect the Red Power Connector to the Male Connector of the Power Cable Splitter.

(Diagram shows the BNC video connector and power connector being attached to the XVR and power splitter.)

  6. Connect the Female Connector of the Power Cable Splitter with another power adapter. Then plug the power adapter into the socket to power on the camera.

(Diagram shows the power cable splitter connected to a power adapter, which is then plugged into a socket to power the camera.)

Start Up Your Device

To start your device, ensure the power supply is plugged into an electrical outlet. It is highly recommended to use an Uninterruptible Power Supply (UPS) with the device.
