- This manual is specific to the motorcycle model indicated on the cover. Installation procedures vary by motorcycle type. Ensure this manual and product match your motorcycle.
- Exhaust System Warning: Exhaust systems can become extremely hot. Allow the exhaust and engine to cool down completely before installation or any other work. Do not touch the hot exhaust.
- Ensure the motorcycle is securely positioned to prevent tipping and damage.
- Parts Verification: Check received parts against the parts list on the Akrapovič website (use QR code on front page or search "Schematic View"). If any parts are missing, do not proceed and contact the retailer.
- Always check your motorcycle's ground clearance. Advanced users may adjust spring preload for optimization.
- Serial Number: Each exhaust system muffler has a unique serial number for authenticity, typically found on the inlet pipe. Verify your product is an original Akrapovič. Contact reseller or partners if in doubt.

Product Specifics:
- Use Bolt Sealant: Apply 3-4 drops to cleaned, degreased threads before tightening. ⚠️ Warning: Avoid contact with skin, eyes, mucous membranes. Do not inhale fumes. Keep out of reach of children.
- Use Anti-Seize Lead-Free Copper Paste (black tube): Provides protection against seizing, corrosion, and rust on threaded parts. Also protects against vibration and impact. ⚠️ Warning: Avoid eye contact. Keep out of reach of children.
- Use Anti-Seizing Grease (white tube): Prevents seizing and corrosion between titanium components. ⚠️ Warning: Avoid eye contact. Keep out of reach of children.

Removal of Stock Exhaust System or Other Stock Motorcycle Parts
The procedure for removing original parts varies by motorcycle model. Consult the motorcycle manufacturer's workshop manual for specific instructions.
Akrapovič is not liable for issues arising from the removal or reinstallation of stock parts. Keep stock parts if they may be legally required for certain road conditions.
Installation Steps
Step 1: Removal of the Stock Heat Shield
1. Position the motorcycle on its side stand or a central racing stand on a solid, flat surface.
2. Unscrew the marked bolts and carefully remove the stock heat shield from the muffler.
⚠️ CAUTION: Be careful not to injure yourself or damage any part of the motorcycle during this procedure!

Step 2: Installation of the Carbon Fibre Heat Shield
1. Assemble the bolts and heat-resistant washers from the Akrapovič installation kit onto the heat shield, as shown in figures F 02, F 03, and F 04.
❗ IMPORTANT: Heat-resistant washers must be placed between the carbon-fiber shield and its brackets, and between the bolt heads and the heat shield.
? INSTALLATION TIP: Screw the heat-resistant washers onto the bolts; do not try to push them on!

Step 3: Mounting the Heat Shield
1. Install the carbon fiber heat shield onto the exhaust system. Use the metal washers on the marked positions and another bolt from the Akrapovič installation kit, as shown.

2. Tighten the bolts to the specified torque values (see figures F 06 and F 07).
⚠️ CAUTION: Be careful not to injure yourself or damage any part of the heat shield during this procedure!
❗ IMPORTANT: Ensure the metal washers are correctly positioned.

Final Installation & Cleaning
1. If any component has a DMC code sticker, remove the sticker and any glue residue before first use.
2. After installation, clean any grease spots from all Akrapovič product surfaces. This prevents spots from burning on. Do not use aggressive chemical cleaners, as they can damage surfaces or stickers.
- Titanium surfaces: Use a soft cloth sprayed with a multi-purpose spray lubricant (e.g., WD-40®), then wipe with a soft dry cloth.
- Carbon-fiber surfaces: Use a soft dry cloth sprayed with an all-purpose foam cleaner, then wipe with a soft dry cloth.
- Painted surfaces: Use a soft cloth sprayed with an all-purpose foam cleaner, then wipe with a soft dry cloth.
- Chrome plated surfaces: Use a soft cloth sprayed with an all-purpose foam cleaner, then wipe with a soft dry cloth.
- Stainless steel surfaces: Use a soft cloth sprayed with a contact cleaner, then wipe with a soft dry cloth.

3. Ensure all nuts and bolts are sufficiently tightened. If the Akrapovič product contacts the cowling or other parts, adjust the product or contact your authorized dealer.
4. Reinstall any removed stock parts (cowlings, radiator, etc.). Consult the vehicle manufacturer's workshop manual for correct procedures and torques.
Maintenance of the Akrapovič Product
- ❗ IMPORTANT: Periodically check that all bolts and springs are sufficiently tightened. If the product contacts other parts, adjust it or contact your dealer.
- ⚠️ CAUTION: After running the engine for 30 minutes, retighten the bolts of the Akrapovič carbon-fiber heat shield.
- ❗ IMPORTANT: White smoke from the muffler during the first 100 km after replacement is normal.
- ❗ IMPORTANT: Changes in exhaust system color due to high temperatures are normal.
- ⚠️ CAUTION: Never stand behind the muffler.
- ❗ IMPORTANT: Do not use automotive wheel cleaners or cleaning products with acidic additives.
- ❗ IMPORTANT: Use caution when using power/pressure washers on painted/lacquered surfaces to avoid damage.
- ❗ IMPORTANT: Akrapovič products are designed for specific vehicles. Ensure end-of-life products are disassembled and components scrapped responsibly according to local laws. Akrapovič is not responsible for the scrapping process or related information.
❗ IMPORTANT: In case of gasoline contamination, immediately wipe painted/lacquered surfaces with a soft, absorbent cloth.
