The instructions provided in this manual should be followed to ensure proper installation and safe use of the Akrapovic product. SYMBOLS The following symbols are used throughout these installation instructions: TOOLS AND PROTECTIVE EQUIPMENT REQUIRED TIGHTENING TORQUE LUBRICATION HAND TIGHTEN INSTALLATION TIP CAUTION OR IMPORTANT USE BOLT SEALANT Apply 3 to 4 small drops of bolt sealant onto the cleaned and degreased threads before tightening the bolts. WARNING! Avoid contact with skin, eyes and mucous membranes. Do not inhale fumes. Keep out of reach of children. USE ANTI-SEIZE LEAD-FREE COPPER PASTE (black tube) Provides trouble-free and long-lasting protection against seizing, corrosion and rusting of bolts, threaded ends, nuts, joints, etc. Also protects against vibration, wear and impact. REMOVAL OF STOCK EXHAUST SYSTEM OR OTHER STOCK MOTORCYCLE PARTS: The process of uninstalling the original exhaust system or other motorcycle parts, may vary depending on the existing exhaust system or other motorcycle parts. Please follow the motorcycle manufacturer's workshop manual for uninstalling the original exhaust system or other motorcycle parts. If you for any reason decide otherwise, please note that any information provided in this respect herein should be considered as general information provided for your convenience only. Akrapovic shall not assume any liability or responsibility with regard to uninstalling your existing exhaust system or other parts of the motorcycle, warranty coverage of such exhaust system or other motorcycle parts vehicle or their further fitness for use. In case your Akrapovic exhaust system or other motorcycle parts may not be used on certain roads or under certain conditions, please keep the stock (or other) exhaust system or other stock parts that you can use in such circumstances legally. 5 / 28 www.akrapovic.com REMOVAL OF STOCK EXHAUST SYSTEM: 1. Put the motorcycle on a central racing stand. Make sure, that surface is solid and flat. 2. Unscrew marked cooler's bracket bolt and carefully remove the bracket off the motorcycle (F 01). CAUTION: be careful not to injure yourself or damage any part of the motorcycle during this procedure! F 01 3. Unscrew marked lambda sensors out off the exhaust (F 02, 03). CAUTION: be careful not to injure yourself or damage any part of the motorcycle during this procedure! IMPORTANT: make sure not to damage the lambda sensor's electrical leads during this process! F 02 6 / 28 F 03 4. Unscrew the headers' flange nuts and muffler's bracket bolts on both sides of the motorcycle and carefully remove the exhaust system off the motorcycle (F 04, 05). IMPORTANT: support the exhaust system during this process! IMPORTANT: be careful not to damage any part of the motorcycle during this process! 7 / 28 F 04 www.akrapovic.com F 05 5. Undo and remove the marked plastic fasteners on both sides of the motorcycle (F 06). CAUTION: be careful not to injure yourself or damage any part of the motorcycle during this procedure! F 06 8 / 28 6. Unscrew marked bolts on both sides of the motorcycle, and carefully remove the plastic panels on both sides off the motorcycle (F 07, 08). IMPORTANT: make sure not to damage the exhaust or any other part of the motorcycle during this process! F 07 9 / 28 F 08 www.akrapovic.com 7. Remove the left side metal bush and rubber grommet out of the bracket (F 09). CAUTION: be careful not to injure yourself or damage any part of the motorcycle during this procedure! F 09 INSTALLATION OF THE AKRAPOVIC EXHAUST SYSTEM: 1. Mount and hand tighten the additional Akrapovic bracket using spacers (to be used only for installation without side cases!), bolts and washers from Akrapovic installation kit (F 10). CAUTION: use the spacers only, if your motorcycle do not have side cases installed! IMPORTANT: use bolt sealant on marked bolt threads! AKRAPOVIC SPACERS F 10 10 / 28 2. Assemble the Akrapovic headers and install it onto the motorcycle, hand tighten the flanges onto the cylinder head using stock nuts (F 11, 12). IMPORTANT: do not fully tighten the flanges yet! INSTALLATION TIP: use new stock exhaust port gaskets. F 11 11 / 28 F 12 www.akrapovic.com 3. Install the link pipe onto the headers attach the springs then hand tighten it onto the frame using bolt, washers and nut from Akrapovic installation kit (F 13, 14). CAUTION: be careful not to injure yourself or damage any part of the motorcycle during this procedure! IMPORTANT: make sure, that springs pull the link pipe all the way onto the headers use rubber mallet if necessary to tap the connections into place! Smaller washer F 13 F 14 12 / 28 4. Undo the marked zip ties and disconnect the lambda sensor's connector on the left side of the motorcycle (F 15). CAUTION: be careful not to injure yourself or damage any part of the motorcycle during this procedure! IMPORTANT: make sure not to damage the lambda sensor's electrical lead during this process! F 15 5. Connect the longer lambda's extension cord from Akrapovic installation kit to extend the lambda's electric lead, route the extension cord, as shown and secure it using zip ties from Akrapovic installation kit (F 16, 17). IMPORTANT: make sure not to damage the lambda sensor's electrical lead during this process! ZIP TIE 13 / 28 ZIP TIE F 16 www.akrapovic.com ZIP TIE ZIP TIE F 17 6. Use the threaded bush and seal from Akrapovic installation kit to install and tighten the lambda sensor to the specified torque, reroute the lambda's electrical lead, plug in the lambda's connector into the extension cord connector and secure the lambda's electrical lead using zip ties from Akrapovic installation kit, as shown (F 18, 19). IMPORTANT: make sure not to damage the lambda sensor's electrical lead during this process! 34Nm 25ftlb F 18 14 / 28 F 19 7. Undo the marked zip ties and disconnect the lambda sensor's connector on the right side of the motorcycle (F 20). CAUTION: be careful not to injure yourself or damage any part of the motorcycle during this procedure! IMPORTANT: make sure not to damage the lambda sensor's electrical lead during this process! 15 / 28 F 20 www.akrapovic.com 8. Connect the shorter lambda's extension cord from Akrapovic installation kit to extend the lambda's electric lead, route the extension cord, as shown and secure it using zip ties from Akrapovic installation kit (F 21). IMPORTANT: make sure not to damage the lambda sensor's electrical lead during this process! ZIP TIE ZIP ZIP TIE TIE F 21 9. Use the threaded bush and seal from Akrapovic installation kit to install and tighten the lambda sensor to the specified torque, reroute the lambda's electrical lead, plug in the lambda's connector into the extension cord connector and secure the lambda's electrical lead using zip ties from Akrapovic installation kit, as shown (F 22, 23, 24). IMPORTANT: make sure not to damage the lambda sensor's electrical lead during this process! 34Nm 25ftlb F 22 16 / 28 ZIP TIE F 23 ZIP TIE 17 / 28 F 24 www.akrapovic.com 10. Before 2025 model years only; plug the second lambda bush, using threaded bush, plug and seals from Akrapovic installation kit, tighten the plug to the specified torque (F 25). CAUTION: be careful not to injure yourself or damage any part of the motorcycle during this procedure! 34Nm 25ftlb F 25 11. Screw Akrapovic heat shield's bolts and heat-resistant washers (Akrapovic installation kit) onto Akrapovic heat shield as shown (F 26, 27, 28). INSTALLATION TIP: screw the heat resistant washers onto the bolts; do not try to push them on! IMPORTANT: heat resistant washers should be between carbon-fiber heat shield and shield's brackets, and between bolts' heads and carbon-fiber heat shield! F 26 18 / 28 19 / 28 F 27 F 28 www.akrapovic.com 12. Tighten the heat shield onto the link pipe (F 29). IMPORTANT: make sure not to damage any part of the exhaust system or motorcycle during this procedure! 9.8Nm 7 ftlb 13. Install and hand tighten the clamp from Akrapovic installation kit onto the muffler (F 30). IMPORTANT: make sure not to damage any part of the exhaust system during this procedure! F 29 F 30 20 / 28 14. Correctly position the carbon-fiber clamp and slide it onto the muffler - bear in mind the right offset of the carbon fiber- clamp; check the correct position of the yellow sticker on the clamp (F 31). IMPORTANT: open the clamp slightly wider than the diameter of the outer sleeve of the muffler do not scrape it along the muffler outer sleeve! F 31 15. Position the muffler correctly, slide it on the link pipe, attach the spring and hand tighten the muffler's carbon fiber clamp onto the bracket, using bolt, washers and nut from Akrapovic installation kit (F 32). IMPORTANT: make sure, that springs pull the muffler all the way onto the link pipe use rubber mallet if necessary to tap the connection into place! 21 / 28 F 32 www.akrapovic.com 16. Align the muffler in respect to the motorcycle and tighten the muffler's carbon fiber clamp's bolt to the specified torque (F 33). IMPORTANT: be careful not to damage the exhaust or any other part of the motorcycle during this process! 22Nm 16ftlb F 33 17. Tighten the additional Akrapovic bracket bolts to the specified torque (F 34). CAUTION: be careful not to injure yourself or damage any part of the motorcycle during this procedure! 22Nm 16ftlb F 34 22 / 28 18. Tighten the marked clamp to the specified torque (F 35). IMPORTANT: be careful not to damage the exhaust or any other part of the motorcycle during this process! 14Nm 10ftlb F 35 19. Tighten the link pipe's bracket bolt to the specified torque (F 36). IMPORTANT: be careful not to damage the exhaust system or any other part of the motorcycle during this process! 22Nm 16ftlb 23 / 28 F 36 www.akrapovic.com 20. Tighten the flanges nuts to the specified torque (F 37). IMPORTANT: be careful not to damage the exhaust system or any other part of the motorcycle during this process! 22Nm 6x 16ftlb F 37 21. Replace all dismounted stock parts in the reverse order from the order in which they were removed. Check motorcycle manufacturer manual for correct tightening torques. IMPORTANT: be careful not to damage the exhaust system or any other part of the motorcycle during this process! 24 / 28 [EMPTY PAGE] 25 / 28 www.akrapovic.com FINAL INSTALLATION: 1. In case any component of the Akrapovic product is equipped with DMC code sticker, the sticker and glue residue should be removed from the component, before first use! 2. Clean grease spots off all Akrapovic product's surfaces, when installation is finished. Cleaning will prevent spots from burning onto the surface. Do not use aggressive chemical cleaners, because they can damage the surface or stickers: · Titanium surfaces (titanium muffler's outer sleeve, titanium pipes etc): use a soft cloth sprayed with a multi-purpose spray lubricant (WD-40® or equivalent)*, then wipe with a soft dry cloth. · Carbon-fiber surfaces (carbon-fiber outlet cap, carbon-fiber muffler's outer sleeve, carbon-fiber bracket etc): use a soft dry cloth sprayed with all purpose foam cleaner, then wipe with a soft dry cloth. · Painted surfaces (painted outlet cap, painted muffler's outer sleeve, painted bracket etc): use a soft cloth sprayed with all purpose foam cleaner, then wipe with a soft dry cloth. · Chrome plated surfaces (chrome plated outlet cap, chrome plated muffler's outer sleeve etc): use a soft cloth sprayed with all purpose foam cleaner, then wipe with a soft dry cloth. · Stainless steel surfaces (stainless steel muffler's outer sleeve, stainless steel pipes etc): use a soft cloth sprayed with a contact cleaner, then wipe with a soft dry cloth. *WD-40® is a trademark of the WD-40 Company. 3. Make sure all the nuts and bolts are sufficiently tightened. In case the Akrapovic product touches the cowling or other parts, repeat the adjustment of the product or contact your authorized dealer. 4. Reinstall all dismounted or partially removed stock parts (cowlings, radiator etc); check vehicle manufacturer workshop manual for correct procedures and tightening torques. MAINTENANCE OF THE AKRAPOVIC PRODUCT: IMPORTANT: periodically make sure all the bolts and springs are sufficiently tightened. In case the product touches the cowling or other parts repeat the adjustment of the product or contact your authorized dealer! CAUTION: after running engine for 30 minutes, retighten the bolts of the Akrapovic carbon-fiber heat shield! IMPORTANT: IT IS NORMAL IF WHITE SMOKE COMES OUT OF THE MUFFLER DURING THE FIRST 100 KM AFTER REPLACEMENT. IMPORTANT: A CHANGE IN THE COLOR OF THE EXHAUST SYSTEM IS NORMAL DUE TO THE HIGH TEMPERATURES. CAUTION: DO NOT STAND BEHIND THE MUFFLER AT ANY TIME. IMPORTANT: DO NOT USE AUTOMOTIVE WHEEL CLEANERS OR ANY CLEANING PRODUCTS WHICH CONTAIN ACIDIC ADDITIVES TO CLEAN AKRAPOVIC PRODUCTS. IMPORTANT: WE RECOMMEND HIGH CAUTION WHEN USING POWER / PRESSURE WASHER FOR CLEANING PAINTED / LACQUERED SURFACES OF THE AKRAPOVIC PRODUCTS, TO AVOID PAINT / LACQUER DAMAGE. IMPORTANT: ALL AKRAPOVIC PRODUCTS ARE DEVELOPED AND DESIGNED TO BE USED ON SPECIFIC VEHICLES, FOR THEIR ENTIRE EXPECTED LIFETIME. PLEASE MAKE SURE THAT END-OF-LIFE AKRAPOVIC PRODUCT IS DISASSEMBLED TO COMPONENTS SHOWN IN THE PRODUCT'S SCHEMATIC DIAGRAM AVAILABLE ON THE AKRAPOVIC WEBSITE AND EACH COMPONENT SCRAPPED RESPONSIBLY AND ACCORDING TO APPLICABLE LOCAL LAWS AND REGULATIONS. AKRAPOVIC DOES NOT ASSUME ANY OBLIGATION OR RESPONSIBILITY WITH RESPECT TO THE SCRAPPING PROCESS OR PROVIDING INFORMATION RELATED THERETO. 26 / 28 IMPORTANT: IN CASE OF CONTAMINATION WITH GASOLINE, ALL PAINTED/LACQUERED SURFACES OF THE AKRAPOVIC COMPONENTS MUST BE WIPED WITH SOFT, ABSORBENT CLOTH IMMEDIATELY!
