SelectBlinds Roller Shade Installation Guide
This guide provides detailed instructions for installing SelectBlinds Roller Shades with various lift systems.

Note: The quantity of brackets depends on the width of your shade.

Mounting the Brackets
Inside Mount
- Measure and mark 2"-4" from each side of the window top corners. Add additional marks for extra brackets, evenly spaced.
- Measure back at least 2" from the marks for bracket depth. For flush mounting, measure 3 1/2" (exposed roll) or 3 7/8" (cassette). Mark the depth.
- Align brackets with marks, mark screw holes.
- Pre-drill holes with a 5/64" drill bit. Erase pencil marks.
- Secure brackets with screws.
Outside Mount
- Measure and mark 2"-4" inward from each side of the window top corners.
- Measure upward from these marks for bracket height (minimum 1 1/4" or 1 1/2" for clearance). Mark the height.
- Position bracket, mark screw holes.
- Pre-drill holes with a 5/64" drill bit. Erase pencil marks.
- Secure brackets with screws.
Attaching the Shade
General Note
Ensure brackets are straight and aligned. Elongated screw holes allow for adjustments.
Inside Mount Adjustment
Use a tape measure to ensure brackets are at the same depth. Loosen screws slightly to adjust and re-secure.
Outside Mount Adjustment
Use a tape measure and level to ensure brackets are at the same height and aligned. Loosen screws slightly to adjust and re-secure.
Exposed Roll Shade
- Insert the pin end into the cross hole of the bracket.
- Insert the motor head/clutch end hooks into the bracket slots. Pull down gently until locked.
Cassette Headrail Shade
- Set the front edge of the headrail onto the front hook of each bracket. Slide for centering.
- Push the headrail upward until the back lip of each bracket snaps onto the back edge of the cassette.
Installing No-Drill Blinds Headrail
Preparing the No-Drill Blinds Headrail
- Pull the lever or push down to retract the tension block.
- Install metal strips or adhesive tape on opposite sides of the window opening.
Installing the No-Drill Blinds Headrail
- Adjust the block at the end of the headrail using a flat-head screwdriver to fine-tune fittings. Twist red plugs to slide the block, then twist back to fix.
- Hold the headrail flush against the top of the window opening and push the lever upwards until it snaps into place.
- Install the blind onto the brackets.
Uninstalling the No-Drill Blinds Headrail
Use a flat-head screwdriver to unlatch the lever. Hold the headrail while unlatching to prevent damage.
Additional Instructions
Installing Chain Tension Device
Note: Used for smooth operation and child safety. Slide the tension device to the bottom of the bead chain loop before proceeding.
- Insert a tool through the screw at the bottom of the tension device.
- Press release buttons and move the screw hole down to release the safety mechanism.
- Slide the tension device to the desired location at the bottom of the bead chain loop.
- Mark the window casement at the tension device's notch.
- Align the screw hole with the notch for a taut but slightly loose chain. Mounting options: Inside Mount (with/without bracket) or Outside Mount.
Programming and Using Your Remote
Important Note
Wake up motorized shades by pressing and holding the setting button for 6 seconds until motors sound and LEDs flash red four times.

Pairing a Single Shade to a Channel
- Select the desired shade channel.
- Remove the battery cover to access the 'C' button.
- Hold the setting button until the shade jogs (green LED blinks).
- Hold the setting button again until the shade beeps (red LED blinks).
- Press the 'C' button while the motor beeps (max 15 secs). The shade jogs, and the green LED flashes to confirm pairing.
Deleting a Shade from Remote
- Select the desired shade channel.
- Remove the battery cover to access the 'C' button.
- Press the 'C' button three times within 2 seconds. The shade jogs, and the green LED flashes to confirm deletion.
Setting the Favourite Position
- Send the shade to the desired favourite position.
- Remove the battery cover to access the 'L' button.
- Hold 'L', then quickly hold 'Heart' until the shade beeps and the green LED blinks to set the favorite position.
Deleting the Favourite Position
- Press 'Heart' to send the shade to its favourite position.
- Remove the battery cover to access the 'L' button.
- Hold 'L', then quickly hold 'Heart' until the shade beeps and the green LED blinks to delete the favorite position.
Changing the Motor Speed
Shades offer three speed levels: Standard, Comfort, and Slow. Changing the speed cycles to the next available level.
- Ensure the desired shade channel is active.
- Hold 'Heart', then quickly hold the 'Up' button until the shade beeps and the green LED blinks to change the speed.
Install/Replace the Remote Battery
- Use a Philips screwdriver to loosen the captive screw on the cover.
- Slide the battery cover off.
- Remove the old battery, align the new battery (+ symbol upward), and place it in the socket.
- Slide the cover back on and tighten the screw.
Mount the Remote Holder
This is optional. Determine placement, insert screws to secure the holder, then attach the screw cap cover.
Troubleshooting
Common Issues
- Backlit buttons not illuminating: Check battery replacement or proper insertion.
- No response when adding blind: Check blind power, charge, and correct group channel.
- Shades not responding to remote: Check remote battery, if blinds are added, blind battery level, or replace remote battery.
Frequently Asked Questions
- Adding blinds without the app: Pair directly by choosing a group number, pressing the blind's manual push button until it jogs twice, then pressing the remote's 'C' button within 15 seconds.
- Copying remote information: Not possible.
- Remote control necessity: Recommended for maximum flexibility, one per room.
- Assigning multiple remotes: Up to 10 remotes can be assigned per shade by repeating the pairing process.
- Number of blinds per remote: 5-channel remote: 5 groups, 16 blinds/group. 14-channel remote: 14 groups, 16 blinds/group.
- Battery type: 3V CR2450 coin/button cell battery.
- Out-of-the-box functionality: Remote requires assignment to shade or via SmartView app.

Quick Start Guide of the Tuiss SmartView App
