- Wall Anchors* (Recommended for hollow drywall)
- Cordless Handle (for Cordless Lift)
- Cord Cleat and Screw (for Corded Lift)
- Tension Device (for Continuous Cord Loop)
- Battery Charger & Remote (for Motorized)
Tools Required
- Pencil
- Tape Measure
- Power Drill
- 5/64" Drill Bit
- Phillips Screwdriver
- Phillips Drill Bit
- Level
- Step Ladder
- Hammer (if using wall anchors)
Mounting the Brackets
Note: Corded and cordless shades have pre-drilled holes in the headrail for bracket placement. If using your own screws, pre-drill a small hole with a 5/64" drill bit before final screw insertion.
Inside Mount
- Hold the shade by the headrail inside the window frame, flush with the wall. Mark screw locations through the headrail holes with a pencil. Set the shade aside.
- Align brackets over the marks, using the bracket holes to mark screw positions.
- Secure brackets with screws using a Phillips drill bit.
Outside Mount
- Position the headrail 2-4 inches above the window. Mark screw locations through the headrail holes with a pencil. Set the shade aside.
- Align brackets along the marks and mark screw positions through the back holes of the bracket.
- Secure brackets with screws using a Phillips drill bit.
- (For wall anchors: pre-drill with a 1/4" bit, tap anchors in with a hammer before screwing.)
Attaching the Shade
Inside and Outside Mount
Important: Ensure the "wings" of the wingnut face the sides of the window to allow cords to move freely.
- Remove wingnuts from brackets if not already done.
- Align headrail pre-drilled holes with bracket drop-bolts. Attach wingnuts to drop-bolts and tighten until the shade is secure.
- For corded shades: Pull cords towards the center to release the cord lock and lower the shade. Pull cords away from the window to raise and engage the cord lock.
Attaching the Cord Cleat (Corded Lift)
Warning: Cords pose a strangulation risk. Cord cleats are a safety feature.
- Place the cord cleat out of reach of children (4-5 feet above the floor). For inside mount, position it behind the fabric near the window.
- Mark screw holes through the cleat. Pre-drill with a 5/64" bit if needed.
- Attach the cleat with the provided screw. Do not overtighten.
- Wrap cords around the cleat to secure them. For two cleats, install one below the other and wrap cords in a figure-8 pattern.
Attaching the Lift Handle (Cordless Roman Shades)
Note: A clear plastic handle protects the fabric.
- Locate the sewn-in hem bar at the bottom pleat.
- Clip the handle to the center of the hem bar.
- To operate, gently lift or lower the hem bar using the handle. The shade will hold its position.
Mounting the Tension Device (Continuous Cord Loop Shades)
Note: The "chain tensioner" helps protect children and pets from choking hazards. Remove any protective bands from the chain.
- Raise the shade fully.
- Pinch the tensioner ends to release the chain grip, then pull the tensioner to the bottom of the loop.
- Hold the chain taut and place the tensioner against the inside of the window or wall, about 1/8 inch up. This keeps the chain snug but allows smooth operation.
- Mark the two screw holes for the tensioner. Move the chain aside and pre-drill holes with a 5/64" bit.
- Align the tensioner holes with the pre-drilled holes and fasten screws, avoiding overtightening.
- To use: Pull the front of the chain to raise, the back to lower.
Programming and Using Your Remote (Motorized Roman Shades)
Warning: Do not manually operate motorized shades; this can cause damage.
Shades and remotes are pre-programmed. Look for the tag on the bottom rail indicating the channel and remote pairing.
Installing the Battery
- Open the remote's battery compartment.
- Insert the lithium battery (CR2450) positive side up.
- Slide the battery cover back on.
Mounting Battery Pack
For outside mounts or inside mounts with shallow sills, attach the battery pack to the wall or vertically inside the windowsill, as far back as possible, ensuring it doesn't interfere with shade operation.
- Outside Mount: Use a pencil and level to align mounting clips on the wall. Slide the battery pack into place.
- Shallow Inside Mount: Use a pencil and level to align mounting clips vertically inside the windowsill, as far back as possible. Slide the battery pack into place.
How to Use the Remote
- Lower Shade: Press and hold the Down button.
- Raise Shade: Press and hold the Up button.
- Stop Movement: Press the Stop button. Holding Stop can set a favorite position.
- Channel Selection: Use Channel Increase/Decrease buttons. The Channel Display shows the current channel.
- All Shades: Set remote to Channel 5 and press Channel Increase to activate motors on all channels.
Pairing the Remote with a Motor
Note: This is for changing channels or adding new shades.
- Plug the battery pack into the shade.

- Press and hold the battery pack button until the shade "jogs" (moves slightly up and down).
- Quickly press and hold the Confirm (C) button on the back of the remote.
- The shade will jog again, confirming the pairing.
Deleting a Channel from the Motor

- Select the channel to disconnect.
- Press the Confirm button 3-7 times until the shade jogs three times. The channel is now removed.
Adjusting Upper and Lower Limits
Note: Limits are factory-set but can be reprogrammed.

- Press Down to lower the shade almost to the bottom. Press Stop. Then, repeatedly press Down to lower slowly to the desired bottom position.
- Flip the remote and press Confirm (C) with a pen. The shade will jog to confirm the lower limit.
- Press Up to raise the shade almost to the top. Press Stop. Then, repeatedly press Up to raise slowly to the desired top position.
- Flip the remote and press Confirm (C) with a pen. The shade will jog to confirm the upper limit and exit programming mode.
Setting a Favorite Position (Optional)
- Raise the shade fully, then press Down to lower it.
- Press Stop at the desired favorite position.
- Simultaneously press and hold the Limit button and the Up button until the shade jogs. The favorite position is set.
No-Drill Blinds Headrail Installation
This section covers the installation of the No-Drill Blinds Headrail, which attaches to an existing product headrail.
Removing the No-Drill Blinds Headrail (from existing product)
Remove the product from the headrail by disengaging the lever mechanism. This may vary by product and lift type.
Preparing the No-Drill Blinds Headrail
- Pull the lever or push down on the mechanism to retract the tension boot.
- Install metal strips or padded adhesive tape on opposite sides of the window opening where the No-Drill Headrail will be installed. This is optional for larger products.
Installing the No-Drill Blinds Headrail
- Insert the No-Drill Blinds Headrail into the window opening, flush with the top.
- Push the lever to extend the tension spring and secure the headrail.
Installing the Product
- Install the Roman Shade product onto the brackets.
- Test operation for secure installation and smooth functionality.
Uninstalling the No-Drill Blinds Headrail
Remove the product from the headrail and use a screwdriver to unlatch the lever. Hold the headrail in place while unlatching to prevent damage.
Tech Tip: If the fixed boot end is forced out, use a flathead screwdriver to twist the red "droplets" towards the center and push it back in.
Cleaning Instructions
Note: Fabric types vary; clean as often as monthly.
- For regular maintenance, use a duster or a vacuum with a brush attachment on the front and back of the shade.
- For spot cleaning, use a damp rag with mild detergent. Dab stains gently; do not rub. Air dry and repeat if necessary.
- To remove wrinkles, use a basic steamer held about six inches away, waving it back and forth over the fabric.
