Water Resistance
Important Information: Read Before Use
For all categories of watches, the following actions are prohibited while submerged in water:
- Pressing buttons
- Adjusting the crown
- Unscrewing the crown (if applicable)
If the watch is exposed to salt water, rinse it thoroughly with fresh water and dry it completely. Do not wear watches with leather straps while swimming, and avoid prolonged contact of leather straps with water.
Watches are classified into water resistance levels (I to V) based on their protection against water. Refer to the table below to determine the appropriate usage for your watch.
* Level | Case Marking | Splashes, Rain, Sweat | Swimming, Washing | Scuba Diving, Snorkeling | Free Diving with Aqua-lung |
---|---|---|---|---|---|
I | - | No | No | No | No |
II | WATER RESISTANT | Yes | No | No | No |
III | 50 M WATER RESISTANT | Yes | Yes | No | No |
IV | 100 M WATER RESISTANT | Yes | Yes | Yes | No |
V | 200 M WATER RESISTANT / 300 M WATER RESISTANT | Yes | Yes | Yes | Yes |
Notes:
- Level I: Watches are not water-resistant. Avoid any contact with moisture.
- Level II (WR - Water Resistant): Indicates water resistance according to ISO 2281. Brief contact with water will not cause problems.
- Level III (5 Bar / 50 meters): Watches can withstand water pressure as indicated and can be used during showers and brief swimming.
- Level IV (10 Bar / 100 meters): Watches can be used during normal swimming and snorkeling.
- Level V (20 Bar / 200 meters): Watches can be used for scuba diving (excluding depths requiring helium-oxygen mixtures).
Condensation: Under conditions of rapid temperature changes, slight condensation may form on the inside of the glass. This is a normal physical phenomenon and not a defect.
