This document provides instructions for using various Casio watch functions.
The watch case may feature different markings, and some models may have a screw-lock crown for enhanced water resistance [R symbol].
Water Resistance
Important Precautions:
- Do not press any buttons underwater.
- Do not change the watch hands underwater.
- Do not unscrew the crown underwater.
If the watch is exposed to salt water, rinse it thoroughly with fresh water and dry it completely. Avoid wearing watches with leather straps while swimming, and prevent prolonged contact of leather straps with water.
Watches are classified by their water resistance levels (from I to V) based on their protection against water. Refer to the table below to determine the correct usage for your watch.
* Level | Case Marking | Splashes, Rain, etc. | Swimming, Washing, etc. | Diving, Snorkeling, etc. | Scuba Diving |
---|---|---|---|---|---|
I | - | No | No | No | No |
II | WATER RESISTANT | Yes | No | No | No |
III | 50 M WATER RESISTANT | Yes | Yes | No | No |
IV | 100 M WATER RESISTANT | Yes | Yes | Yes | No |
V | 200 M WATER RESISTANT / 300 M WATER RESISTANT | Yes | Yes | Yes | Yes |
Notes:
- Level I: Watches are not water-resistant. Avoid exposure to any moisture.
- Level II: WR (Water Resistant) indicates that the model is waterproof according to ISO 2281. Brief contact with water will not cause problems.
- Level III: Watches with 5 Bar (50 meters) water resistance can withstand water pressure equivalent to that experienced during showering and brief swimming.
- Level IV: Water resistance of 10 Bar (100 meters) means the watch can be used during normal swimming and snorkeling.
- Level V: Water resistance of 20 Bar (200 meters) means the watch can be used for scuba diving (excluding depths requiring helium-oxygen mixtures).
Under conditions of rapid temperature changes, slight condensation may form on the inside of the glass. This is a normal physical phenomenon and not a defect.
CASIO COMPUTER CO., LTD. is not responsible for any damage that may occur from the use of these watches and does not accept any claims from third parties.
Setting the Current Time
Your watch may differ slightly from the illustrations in this manual.
Screw-lock Crown: Some water-resistant models are equipped with a screw-lock crown. To pull out the crown, first unlock it by turning it in the direction indicated in the illustration [arrow symbol]. Do not use excessive force when pulling out the crown, as this can cause damage. Note that the watch loses its water resistance when the crown is pulled out. After performing any operations with the crown, return it to its original position and lock it.

- The backlight is provided by electroluminescent (EL) elements or LEDs, depending on the model. EL elements may lose brightness after prolonged use.
- Frequent use of the backlight reduces battery life.
- Activating the backlight for extended periods or when the battery charge is low may cause the watch hands to stop moving temporarily.
