Water Protection
READ THIS IMPORTANT INFORMATION FIRST
For all watch categories, the following are prohibited:
- Pressing buttons underwater.
- Moving hands underwater.
- Unscrewing the crown underwater.
If the watch is exposed to salt water, rinse it thoroughly and dry it. Do not wear watches with leather straps while swimming. Avoid prolonged contact of leather straps with water.
Watches are classified by levels (I to V) according to their degree of water resistance. Consult the table below to determine the correct usage for your watch.
Level | Case Marking | Splashes, Rain, etc. | Swimming, Washing | Diving, Snorkeling | Scuba Diving |
---|---|---|---|---|---|
I | - | No | No | No | No |
II | WATER RESISTANT | Yes | No | No | No |
III | 50 M WATER RESISTANT | Yes | Yes | No | No |
IV | 100 M WATER RESISTANT | Yes | Yes | Yes | No |
V | 200 M WATER RESISTANT 300 M WATER RESISTANT |
Yes | Yes | Yes | Yes |
Notes:
- Level I: Watches are not water-resistant. Avoid all moisture.
- Level II: WR (Water Resistant) means the model is waterproof according to ISO 2281. Brief contact with water will not cause any problems.
- Level III: With 5 Bar (50 meters) water resistance, watches can withstand water pressure suitable for showering and brief swimming.
- Level IV: 10 Bar (100 meters) water resistance means watches can be used during normal swimming and snorkeling.
- Level V: 20 Bar (200 meters) water resistance means watches can be used for scuba diving (excluding depths requiring a helium-oxygen mixture).
Slight condensation may form on the inside of the glass in conditions of rapid temperature changes. This phenomenon is due to physical laws and is not a defect.
CASIO COMPUTER CO., LTD. is not responsible for any damage that may arise from the use of these watches and does not accept any claims from third parties.
Crown Operation
Your watch may differ slightly from the illustrations in this manual.
Note: Some water-resistant models are equipped with a screw-lock crown.
To pull out such a crown, you must unlock it by turning it in the direction indicated in the illustration [arrow indicating rotation]. Do not apply excessive force when pulling out the crown, as this may lead to damage.
Note that the watch is no longer protected against water and moisture when the crown is pulled out. After completing any operations using the crown, be sure to return it to its original position and lock it.
