Controls and Connections
The rear panel of the TAS 408F features the following controls and connections:
- 1 - Power Cable: Connects the unit to the electricity network. Operates with a power supply between 90 and 240 VAC.
- 2 - ON / OFF Switch: Puts the product on standby, ready to be turned on using the DIRECT ON / AUDIO ON key.
- 3 - DIRECT ON / AUDIO ON:
- DIRECT ON: Turns the subwoofer on and off using the on/off switch.
- AUDIO ON: When set to this position, the product turns on when it receives an audio signal and turns off approximately 10 minutes after audio stops.
- 4 - SPEAKER OUT: Output for connecting a 4-ohm passive speaker (e.g., Taramps TPS 408F passive box).
- 5 - 0° / 180°: This switch inverts the phase of the audio signal by 180° to correct potential cancellations.
- 6 - LPF (Low Pass Filter): Allows variable adjustment of the maximum cutoff frequency from 50Hz to 250Hz. The "Home theater" mark on the scale suggests a setting for use in a movie theater environment.
- 7 - Volume: Adjusts the amplifier's input sensitivity, enabling precise alignment with the output signal levels of various audio sources.
- 8 - INPUT (RCA): Audio inputs. Connect these to the RCA outputs of your audio reproduction system using good quality shielded cables to prevent noise interference. For Mono or LFE connections, use the R input.
Starting The Subwoofer
Connect the receiver/pre-output to the subwoofer input using appropriate cables.
