Rear Panel Controls and Connections
The rear panel features several controls and connection ports:
- Power Cable: Connects to the electricity network (90-240 VAC).
- ON/OFF Switch: Puts the product in standby mode, ready to be activated by DIRECT ON or AUDIO ON.
- DIRECT ON / AUDIO ON:
- DIRECT ON: Turns the subwoofer on and off manually.
- AUDIO ON: Automatically turns the product on when an audio signal is detected and off after approximately 10 minutes of no audio.
- SPEAKER OUT: Output for connecting a 4-ohm passive speaker (e.g., Taramps TPS 408F passive box).
- 0° / 180°: Inverts the audio signal phase by 180° to correct potential cancellation issues.
- LPF (Low Pass Filter): Adjustable cutoff frequency from 50Hz to 250Hz. The "Home theater" mark suggests a setting for movie theater use.
- Volume: Adjusts the amplifier's input sensitivity for optimal matching with source output levels.
- INPUT (RCA): Audio inputs for connecting to the audio reproduction system's RCA outputs. Use shielded cables to minimize noise. The R input can be used for Mono or LFE connections.
Starting the Subwoofer
To begin using the subwoofer, connect the receiver/pre-output to the subwoofer's input.
A diagram illustrates the connection: the "RECEIVER OUT" (L and R channels) connects to the "ACTIVE BOX INPUT" (L and R channels). The "VOLUME" control is also visible on the active box.
