Rear Panel Controls and Connections
The rear panel features several controls and connection ports:
- 1 - Power Cable: Connection for the electricity network. Supports a power supply range of 90 to 240 VAC.
- 2 - ON / OFF Switch: This switch puts the product in standby mode, ready to be activated by the DIRECT ON or AUDIO ON key.
- 3 - DIRECT ON / AUDIO ON:
- DIRECT ON: Activates or deactivates the subwoofer using the main on/off switch.
- AUDIO ON: When set to this position, the product turns on upon receiving an audio signal and automatically turns off after approximately 10 minutes of inactivity.
- 4 - SPEAKER OUT: Output terminal for connecting a 4-ohm passive speaker (e.g., Taramps TPS 408F passive box).
- 5 - 0° / 180°: A key that inverts the phase of the audio signal by 180° to correct potential signal cancellation.
- 6 - LPF (Low Pass Filter): Allows variable adjustment of the maximum cutoff frequency from 50Hz to 250Hz. The 'Home theater' mark on the scale indicates a suggested setting for use in a movie theater environment.
- 7 - Volume: Adjusts the amplifier's input sensitivity for optimal signal level matching with audio sources.
- 8 - INPUT (RCA): Audio input ports. Connect to the RCA outputs of your audio system using quality shielded cables to prevent noise. For Mono or LFE connections, use the 'R' input.
Starting The Subwoofer
To start using the subwoofer, connect the receiver or pre-output to the subwoofer's input.
Connection Diagram Description: A simplified diagram shows a connection between a 'RECEIVER' unit and the 'ACTIVE BOX'. The 'RECEIVER' has 'OUT L' and 'OUT R' RCA outputs. The 'ACTIVE BOX' has 'INPUT L', 'INPUT R', and 'VOLUME' controls. A cable is shown connecting the 'OUT L' or 'OUT R' from the receiver to the 'INPUT L' or 'INPUT R' on the active box.
