Rear Panel Controls and Connections
The rear panel of the TAS 410F features the following controls and connections:
[Power Switch]: Labeled '0' (OFF) and '1' (ON).
SPEAKER OUT (4 OHMS): Output terminal for connecting an external passive speaker.
[Auto-On Mode Switch]: Labeled 'DIRECT ON' and 'AUDIO ON'.
[Low Pass Filter - LPF]: Rotary knob for adjusting the cutoff frequency from 50 Hz to 250 Hz. Includes MIN and MAX indicators, and a marker for 'HOME THEATER' use.
[Volume Control]: Rotary knob to adjust the input sensitivity. Includes MIN and MAX indicators.
[RCA Inputs]: Stereo RCA input jacks (L and R) for audio signals. The R input can also be used for Mono or LFE connection.
[Phase Switch 0/180]: Button to invert the phase of the audio signal by 180 degrees.
[Automatic Bivolt Indicator]: Shows the power supply status (127V/220V, 50-60Hz).
Detailed Control Descriptions:
- Power Cable: Connect the cable to the electricity network. This product operates with a power supply between 90 and 240 VAC.
- ON/OFF Switch: This switch puts the product on standby, ready to be turned on using the DIRECT ON / AUDIO ON mode.
- DIRECT ON / AUDIO ON:
- DIRECT ON: Turns the subwoofer on and off using the main power switch.
- AUDIO ON: With the switch in this position, the product turns on when it receives an audio signal and turns off automatically after approximately 10 minutes without audio.
- SPEAKER OUT: Output for connecting a 4 ohm passive speaker. (Example: TPS 408F passive Taramps Box)
- 0° / 180°: With the button pressed, inverts the phase of the audio signal by 180°. (Used to correct cancellation)
- LPF (Low Pass Filter): Variable adjustment of the maximum cutoff frequency from 50Hz to 250Hz. The point marked on the scale as "Home theater" is a suggestion for using the active box in a movie theater.
- Volume: Adjusts the amplifier's input sensitivity, which allows for perfect adjustment to the output signal levels of market players.
- INPUT (RCA): Audio inputs. Connect them to the RCA outputs of the audio reproduction system, using good quality shielded cables to avoid noise capture. For Mono or LFE connection, use the R input.
Starting The Subwoofer
Connect the receiver/pre output to the subwoofer input.
Connection Diagram Description: A diagram illustrates the connection between a 'RECEIVER OUT' (with L and R channels) and the subwoofer's 'INPUT' (with L, R, and MONO options).
