VIMAR WELL-CONTACT PLUS 02952

Electronic Touchscreen Thermostat

The WELL-CONTACT PLUS 02952 is an electronic touchscreen thermostat designed for precise ambient temperature control in two independent zones, supporting both heating and air-conditioning. It integrates with the KNX standard home automation system.

This device is classified as Class I (1% contribution) in ON/OFF mode and Class IV (2% contribution) in PI mode. It features one NO relay output rated at 4A 24V~, an input for an electronic or wired temperature sensor, and a programmable digital input. The thermostat includes RGB LED backlighting and can be interfaced with actuators using KNX proportional analog outputs to function as a modulating room thermostat (Class V, 3% contribution). It is designed to be completed with Eikon, Arké, or Plana cover plates (2 modules).

The thermostat is suitable for 2 or 4-pipe systems and neutral zones (in 4-pipe systems). It incorporates a 'boost' function to accelerate the achievement of desired thermal comfort by activating a second source. It can interact with other thermostats and a supervision center via Well-contact Suite software. The device manages two climate zones independently, functioning as two separate thermostats (A and B). For each zone, heating/air-conditioning modes are managed based on the reference temperature. A programmable relay (NC or NO) can be used for general purposes (e.g., lighting control, zone valve closure, electric towel warmer activation) or for controlling fan coil speed (speed 1), managed by either thermostat A or B. A programmable digital input (NC or NO) can be used for other applications, such as detecting an open window.

The thermostat features 5 capacitive buttons for controlling temperature set-point, fan coil speed, operating modes, and selecting thermostat A or B. It has an RGB backlit display with adjustable colors configurable via ETS parameters.

Configuration

Configuration, including physical address, parameters, and operation, is performed using ETS software. Refer to the Well-contact Plus manual on www.vimar.com for detailed ETS communication objects and parameters. Users can modify temperature set-point and fan coil speed via front buttons, which forces the thermostat into manual operation.

Using the Thermostat

The thermostat allows setting:

  • Operating mode (Comfort, Stand-by, Economy, Protected, OFF) by tapping the mode icon.
  • Fan coil speed by tapping the speed icon.
  • Room temperature set-point increase by tapping the '+' icon.
  • Room temperature set-point decrease by tapping the '-' icon.

Set-point adjustment limits can be configured by the control room or reception via the 'Client Permissible Control' parameter. Thermostat B selection is made by tapping the 'B' icon.

Installation Rules

Installation must be performed by qualified personnel in compliance with local electrical installation regulations. The appliance should be installed in flush- or wall-mounting boxes at a height of 1.5 m from the floor, in a position suitable for accurate ambient temperature detection. Avoid installation in niches, behind doors/curtains, or near heat sources/atmospheric factors, especially on perimeter walls or near heat-generating appliances.

  • Important: Max. external sensor cable length: 60 m (use twisted cable, min. 0.8 mm²). Max. input cable length: 30 m. Ensure the BUS power supply unit's earth terminal is correctly connected to the system earth. Provide sufficient cable length for device extraction to access the configuration button.

Regulatory Compliance

  • EMC Directive: Standards EN 50428, EN 50491.
  • REACH Regulation (EU) No. 1907/2006 - Art.33: Product may contain traces of lead.
  • WEEE (Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment): The crossed-out bin symbol indicates separate collection at the end of the product's life. Users should take the product to designated collection centers or return it to the retailer. Free disposal is possible for products under 25 cm at retailers with sales areas of at least 400 m². Proper disposal and recycling help prevent negative environmental and health effects.
