Getting Started and Maintenance
Before first use and after each filter exchange, it is important to clean the funnel and jug. While the jug and funnel are dishwasher safe (max. 50°C), the lid with the non-removable BRITA Memo should be cleaned by hand using mild detergents.
The MAXTRA+ water filter requires activation. The first two fillings should be discarded or used for plants, with the third filling ready for consumption. The BRITA Memo, located in the lid, serves as a reminder to change the MAXTRA+ water filter approximately every four weeks to maintain optimal performance.

Important Usage Notes
- Avoid exposing the BRITA water filter jug to direct sunlight or heat sources. Store in a cool, dry place.
- BRITA filtered water is intended for human consumption and should be consumed within one day.
- If authorities instruct to boil mains water, BRITA filtered water must also be boiled. Thorough cleaning and a new filter are recommended once the instruction is lifted.
- For individuals with specific health considerations (e.g., kidney disease, potassium restrictions), consulting a doctor is advised.
- Natural variances in the carbon filter may result in small black particles, which are harmless.
- Dispose of the BRITA Memo and used filters according to local regulations.
