NETGEAR recommends keeping these default settings unchanged for optimal security.

Record Your Default Wireless Settings:
WLAN Network Name (SSID): ___________________________________
Network Key (Password): __________________________________
If You Change Your Default Wireless Settings:
WLAN Network Name (SSID): ____________________________________
Network Key (Password): ____________________________________
If you need to retrieve or update your password, navigate to http://www.routerlogin.net in a web browser. Log in using the default username "admin" and password "password". Select "Wireless Settings" to find your wireless network password.
Connecting Wireless Devices to the Router
You can connect wireless computers and other devices to your WLAN using either the manual method or WiFi Protected Setup (WPS).
Manual Method
- On the wireless device you wish to connect (e.g., iPhone, Laptop, Computer, Game Console), open its software wizard for managing wireless connections. This wizard will scan for available wireless networks in your vicinity.
- Locate and select the default NETGEAR network name (SSID) from the list. This SSID is found on the label on the underside of the router. Note: If you changed the network name during setup, search for that new name.
- Enter the default password (or your custom password if you have changed it) and click "Connect".
- Repeat steps 1 through 3 to add more wireless devices.
WPS Method
If your wireless device supports WPS (NETGEAR refers to this as "Push 'N' Connect"), you may be prompted to press the WPS button [WPS button] on the router instead of entering a password. If this occurs:
- Press the WPS button [WPS button] on the router.
- Within the next two minutes, press the WPS button on your client device, or follow the WPS instructions provided with the wireless device to complete the WPS process. The device will then connect to the router.
- Repeat these steps for any additional WPS-enabled wireless devices.
Note: WPS does not support WEP encryption. Attempting to connect a WEP client via WPS will not be successful.
Troubleshooting
Browser cannot display the webpage:
- Ensure the PC is connected to one of the four LAN ports or wirelessly to the router.
- Verify that the router is powered on. The Wireless LED should be illuminated.
- Close and reopen the web browser to ensure it is not displaying a cached page.
- Try accessing the router via
http://routerlogin.net
. - If the PC is assigned a static or fixed IP address (which is uncommon), change this setting to allow the PC to obtain an IP address automatically from the router.
NETGEAR recommends utilizing only official NETGEAR support channels for assistance.
