Product Overview

This document provides instructions for the installation and mounting of CARDAN LED luminaires.

Component Identification

The product includes various LED luminaire bodies (labeled E1, R1) and associated driver units. Specific model numbers are listed above, with diagrams indicating different sets of components and corresponding steps:

• Diagrams 1-4: Illustrate components for certain models.
• Diagrams 5-10: Illustrate components for other models.
• Diagrams 11-12: Illustrate components for yet other models.

Service and Replaceability

? The servicing of the control gear in this luminaire should only be undertaken by the manufacturer or their service agent or a similar qualified person.

? The light source of this luminaire is not replaceable; when the light source reaches its end of life, the whole luminaire shall be replaced.

Installation and Commissioning Responsibility

Installation and commissioning may only be carried out by authorized specialists.

Mounting Dimensions

Diagrams illustrate required clearance dimensions (e.g., ≥50 mm, ≥100 mm) around the luminaire for proper installation and heat dissipation. Specific dimensions are provided in the table below:

General Installation Guidelines

The luminaire is used exclusively for lighting and must be installed in accordance with national installation regulations. Any other use or installation is regarded as "not according to instructions".

Electrical Safety Warning

⚠️ Caution! Make sure that the luminaires and power supply units are always disconnected from the mains supply during wiring and installation work. Failure to comply may lead to the destruction of the LED modules.

Wiring and Mounting Procedures

The document details wiring methods, including "Looping-in (feed through)" for both LDO and 230V systems. This involves passing cables through the driver unit.

Ceiling Reinforcement

For thin or soft ceiling materials, it is recommended to use ceiling reinforcing rings (Part Numbers: 60800777, 60800778) to enlarge the bearing surface and ensure secure mounting.

Driver and Luminaire Connection

Step-by-step diagrams illustrate the connection process:

• Step 1: Shows the driver unit with connection terminals.
• Step 2: Shows the luminaire connector being plugged into the driver.
• Step 3: Shows wire insertion into terminals, specifying wire gauge: "2 x 0.5-1.5 mm²" and stripping length: "8.5-9.5".

A force rating of "400N" is indicated for secure connections.

Advanced Control Systems and Installation

Instructions are provided for advanced control systems like DALI/DSI and switchDIM.

DALI/DSI Wiring

Diagrams show the wiring for DALI/DSI systems, connecting "DA", "DA", "L", and "N" terminals on the driver. The maximum current for these connections is "Max. 12A". Wire gauge specifications are "2 x 0.5-2.5 mm²" with a stripping length of "10-11". A force rating of "400N" is indicated.

switchDIM Wiring

A diagram illustrates the wiring for the switchDIM system, connecting "L", "N", "DA", and "DA" to the converter unit.

Installation and Removal
