Water Resistance
READ THIS IMPORTANT INFORMATION FIRST
For all categories of watches, it is prohibited to:
- Press buttons underwater.
- Change hands underwater.
- Unscrew the crown underwater.
If the watch is exposed to salt water, rinse it thoroughly and dry it. Do not wear watches with leather straps while swimming. Avoid prolonged contact of leather straps with water.
Watches are classified by levels (from Level I to Level V) according to their degree of water resistance. Check your watch's level using the table below to determine its proper use.
Level | Case Marking | Splashes, Rain, etc. | Swimming, Car Washing, etc. | Skin Diving, Diving, etc. | Scuba Diving |
---|---|---|---|---|---|
I | - | No | No | No | No |
II | WATER RESISTANT | Yes | No | No | No |
III | 50 M WATER RESISTANT | Yes | Yes | No | No |
IV | 100 M WATER RESISTANT | Yes | Yes | Yes | No |
V | 200 M WATER RESISTANT / 300 M WATER RESISTANT | Yes | Yes | Yes | Yes |
Notes:
- Level I: Watches are not water-resistant. Avoid any moisture ingress.
- Level II: WR (Water Resistant) means the model is waterproof according to ISO 2281. Brief contact with water will not cause any problems.
- Level III: With 5 Bar (50 meters) water resistance, the watch can withstand water pressure of the indicated value and can therefore be used during showers and brief swimming.
- Level IV: 10 Bar (100 meters) water resistance means the watch can be used during general swimming and skin diving.
- Level V: 20 Bar (200 meters) water resistance means the watch can be used for scuba diving (except for depths requiring a helium-oxygen mixture).
When using the product in conditions of rapid temperature changes, slight condensation may form on the inside of the glass. This phenomenon is due to the laws of physics and is not a defect.
CASIO COMPUTER CO., LTD. is not responsible for any damage that may occur during the use of these watches and does not accept any claims from third parties.
Operating Your Watch

Watches with Backlight
Press and hold button L [L button] to illuminate the watch face. Depending on the watch model, the backlight duration is 2 to 3 seconds, or 1 second, or until button L is released (Module 5577). Depending on the watch model, the backlight is provided by electroluminescent (EL) elements or LEDs. EL elements lose power after prolonged use. Frequent use of the backlight reduces battery life. Activating the backlight for an extended period or when the battery charge is low may cause the watch hands to stop moving for a while.
Watches with Rotating Bezel
Rotate the bezel to align the marker [bezel marker] with the minute hand. After some time, you will be able to tell how much time has passed since you aligned the marker with the minute hand. [Bezel for elapsed time measurement diagram description].
