Where to Place Your Outdoor Wall Lights
Diagram shows a house with a wall light mounted next to the front door. The fixture is 12.8 inches tall. For optimal illumination of the door lock and handle, lights should be placed approximately 66 inches from the floor or ground. If one light is used next to an entryway or garage door, it should be positioned at 1/3 the height of the door. For lights on each side of a door, they should be placed at 1/4 the height of the door. Lights should also be positioned 6 inches from the edge of the door. If only one light is used, it should be placed on the side of the door closest to the door handle.
Helpful Tip
The dusk-to-dawn sensor requires unobstructed placement. Ensure that eaves or other objects do not cover the sensor, as this may cause the light to remain on constantly.
