4Modern Home 7040-2BK Operations Manual
Brand: 4Modern Home
Product Overview
This document provides operations and installation instructions for the 4Modern Home 7040-2BK outdoor wall light. The fixture features an intelligent dusk-to-dawn sensor that automatically adjusts lighting based on ambient light levels.
Where to Place Your Outdoor Wall Lights
Proper placement ensures optimal illumination and sensor function. For a single light next to an entryway or garage door, position it at 1/3 the height of the door. For lights on both sides of a door, place them at 1/4 the door's height. Measure from the floor to the top of the door. For example, on an 80-inch tall door, lights should be 20 inches tall. Lights should be positioned 66 inches from the floor to illuminate the lock and handle effectively. Maintain a distance of 6 inches from the edge of the door. If using a single light, place it on the side closest to the door handle.
Helpful Tip: The dusk-to-dawn sensor can be affected by obstructions. Ensure that eaves or other objects do not cover the sensor, as this may cause the light to remain on constantly.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)
- 1. Does it feature a dusk-to-dawn sensor?
- Yes, the fixture has an intelligent dusk-to-dawn sensor that automatically turns the light on when ambient light levels fall below 20 LUX and off when brightness exceeds 90 LUX, saving energy and eliminating manual operation.
- 2. What could be the reason if the lamp does not turn on during installation?
- If the lamp remains off during installation, it is likely due to the dusk-to-dawn sensor's deactivation during daylight hours. To test functionality, cover the sensor with your hand or a cloth after turning on the power switch. If the lamp illuminates, it confirms the sensor is working correctly and the issue relates to the automatic day/night cycle.
- 3. What if I do not need the dusk-to-dawn functionality?
- The fixture includes a rubber cap that can be used to disable the dusk-to-dawn feature, allowing for manual control over the lamp's operation.
- 4. What should I do if the glass lampshade I received is cracked or broken?
- If the glass lampshade is damaged, please contact customer service immediately for assistance and a satisfactory solution.
