This document serves as the user manual for the TCL T302X/T302D device. Please note that there may be minor differences between the descriptions in this manual and the actual phone operation, depending on the phone's software version or specific network services.
Getting Started
Finding Your Serial Number or IMEI: Your serial number or the mobile device's international identification number (IMEI) can be found on the packaging. Alternatively, on the phone, press *#06#
or navigate to Settings > Regulations & Security > IMEI.

Viewing Legal Information: On your phone, go to Settings > About > Privacy & User Terms.
1. Your Device
This section details the physical components and basic operations of your TCL device.
1.1 Buttons and Connectors
The device features several buttons and connectors for operation:
- Front View: Features a display screen and a keypad with navigation keys and function buttons.
- Side View: May include volume controls or other function buttons.
- Bottom View: Typically includes the microphone and charging port.
- Top View: May include the headset jack.
Key Buttons and Functions:
- OK Key (Center): Confirms options (press the center of the key) or accesses the application list from the Home screen.
- Left Function Key: Confirms options or accesses the application list from the Home screen.
- Call/Send Key: Answers or initiates calls. Also opens the call log from the Home screen.
- Right Function Key (Back Key): Accesses the Contacts/Address Book from the Home screen.
- End/Power Key: Returns to the Home screen or ends calls.
- Navigation Keys (Up, Down, Left, Right): Navigate through menus. From the Home screen, they can access Messages (Up), Camera (Down), Phone/My Files/Entertainment (Right), and Tools (Left).
- '5' Key: Enters the digit '5' in standby mode. Long press activates/deactivates the flashlight.
- '*' Key: Enters the '*' character in standby mode. Long press locks the screen. In edit mode, inserts symbols.
- '#' Key: Enters the '#' character in standby mode. Long press toggles vibration mode. In edit mode, opens mode settings.
1.2 First Steps
1.2.1 Setup: Removing the Back Cover and Installing the Battery
Follow these steps to access the SIM and battery compartments:
- Gently pry open the back cover.
- Remove the battery if already installed.
- Insert the SIM card with the chip facing down, sliding it into its slot. Ensure it is correctly seated. To remove, press and pull.
- Insert the battery, aligning the contacts.
Important: Turn off the device before inserting or removing SIM/micro SD cards.
Charging the Battery: Connect the charger to the phone and a wall socket. Be careful not to force the connector. Ensure the battery is correctly inserted before charging. The power outlet should be easily accessible.
1.2.2 Powering On the Phone: Press and hold the End/Power key until the phone turns on. The screen will light up after a few seconds.
1.2.3 Powering Off the Phone: Press and hold the End/Power key until the phone powers off.
Power Saving Tips: To reduce power consumption, unplug the charger when the battery is fully charged and turn off Bluetooth. You can also reduce screen brightness and shorten the screen timeout in the Settings menu.
1.3 Home Screen
The Home screen displays the time, date, and status bar icons indicating network signal, battery level, and notifications. The status bar icons include:
- Signal Strength: Indicates network coverage.
- Battery Level: Shows remaining battery power.
- New Message: Indicates unread messages.
- SIM Card Status: Shows if a SIM card is inserted and recognized.
- Mute Mode: Indicates if the phone is in silent mode.
- Alarm Set: Shows if an alarm is active.
- Bluetooth: Indicates if Bluetooth is enabled.
- Headset Connected: Shows if a headset is plugged in.
Modifying the Home Screen Background:
- From the Home screen, press the OK key, select the Settings icon, then navigate using the Navigation keys to Phone Settings > Display > Wallpaper.
- Choose a new image from the Gallery or a specified location. Press the Left Function key and select OK to confirm. The new wallpaper will appear on the Home screen after exiting.
1.4 Application List
Access the Application List by pressing the Left Function key or the OK key from the Home screen. The list displays all available applications.
2. Call Logs
Manage your calls efficiently with the Call Log features.
2.1 Making Calls
Dial a number and press the Call/Send key to make a call. Alternatively, press the Right Function key to select a contact from your Phonebook. Use the Navigation keys to scroll through contacts and press the Call/Send key to initiate the call. To delete an incorrect digit, use the Right Function key.
International Calls: To make an international call, press the '*' key twice to enter '+', then dial the country code and the full phone number, followed by the Call/Send key.
Emergency Calls: If you have network coverage, dial the emergency number and press the Call/Send key.
Ending a Call: Press the End/Power key.
2.2 Answering or Rejecting Calls
When a call comes in:
- To answer, press the Left Function key or the Call/Send key.
- To reject, press the Right Function key or the End/Power key.
2.3 Accessing Voicemail
Press and hold the '1' key to call your voicemail. Follow the prompts to set up your voicemail box.

3. Phonebook
Easily access and manage your contacts.
3.1 Viewing the Phonebook
You can access the Phonebook by pressing the OK key from the Home screen and selecting 'Phonebook', or by pressing the Right Function key from the Home screen.
3.2 Adding a Contact
From the contact list screen, select 'New Contact' or navigate to Options > New Contact to add a new contact with detailed information. Once done, press the Left Function key to save.
Contact Entry Screen: Fields include Name and Number.
- Press the Left Function key for more options.
- Press the OK key to access contact details.
- Press the Right Function key to access Options or Delete.
3.3 Editing a Contact
Select a contact, press the OK key to view details, then select Options > Edit and press the OK key to make changes.
3.4 Deleting a Contact
From the Phonebook screen, press the Left Function key to access Options, select Delete, and press the OK key to confirm deletion.
3.5 Available Options
The Phonebook offers the following options:
- Call: Initiate a call to the selected contact.
- Send SMS: Send a text message to a contact.
- Edit: Modify contact details.
- Delete: Remove the selected contact.
- Copy: Copy contacts between the phone and SIM card.
- Send Business Card: Share contact information via SMS, MMS, or Bluetooth.
- Other:
- Speed Dial: Set up speed dial contacts.
- Fixed Dialing: Enable/disable fixed dialing numbers and edit the list.
- Memory Status: Check phone and SIM card memory usage.
- Copy All: Copy all contacts to/from the SIM card.
- Move Contacts: Transfer contacts between phone and SIM.
- Delete All: Erase all contacts at once.
- Backup Contacts: Save contacts to the microSD card.
- Restore Contacts: Restore contacts from the microSD card.
4. SOS
The SOS function allows you to send emergency alerts.
To access SOS, press the OK key from the Home screen and select SOS.
- Status: Enable or disable the SOS function.
- Contact List: Set up SOS contacts.
- Message: Configure the SOS message.
- Attempts: If an emergency call cannot connect, the device will automatically try to reach all predefined contacts sequentially within 15 seconds. Inform your friends or family if they are listed as SOS contacts.
- SOS Settings: Configure the SOS button. When activated, long-pressing the SOS button triggers an audible alarm, sends emergency messages, and calls predefined SOS contacts.
5. Tools
Access various utility applications on your device.
5.1 Alarm
Your mobile device features a built-in alarm clock with a snooze function. You can set up to three alarms with different times.
5.2 Clock
The clock displays the current time based on your location after SIM card insertion. You can select other cities to view their local times.
5.3 Flashlight
Turn the flashlight on or off.
5.4 Magnifier
Press to activate the magnifier.
5.5 Calculator
Use the navigation keys to perform calculations with +, -, ×, ÷, and = operations.
5.6 My Files
The phone provides internal storage for file management and supports micro SD cards. You can create new folders, delete, edit, and view files on the micro SD card.
5.7 Call Filter
Use this menu to set up a blacklist for incoming calls.
5.8 Calendar
Opens a monthly view calendar. Use the Left Function key and Options to jump to a date or set the start of the week.
5.9 Converter
The Converter function supports weight and length unit conversions.
6. Messages
Send and receive text (SMS) messages.
6.1 Writing Messages
- From the Home screen, press the OK key and select Messages.
- Select Write Message to compose a text message.
- When finished, press the Left Function key to select Options > Send to send the message.
Message Input:
- In edit mode, use the Keypad button to change input modes (e.g., for numbers 1, 2, 3). Long-press a key to access alternative characters.
- You can type text using predictive text input. Press the '#' key to set up text input preferences.
- Normal Input: Press number keys 2-9 repeatedly to cycle through characters. If the next character is on the same key, press the key multiple times and then the cursor key to move.
- Press the '#' key to select input modes (Abc, abc, ABC, 123) or writing language.
- Press the '*' key for punctuation or special characters.
- To delete characters or symbols, use the Right Function key for individual deletion.
Message Settings:
- SIM1/SIM2 Message Center: View the message center number.
- Message Validity Period: Set the validity period (1 hr, 6 hrs, 24 hrs, 72 hrs, 1 week, or maximum).
- Delivery Reports: Enable or disable delivery reports.
- Reply Path: Enable the reply path.
- Code Management: Set character encoding (GSM-7, UCS2, or Automatic).
- Save Sent Messages: Choose whether to save sent messages.
- Preferred Storage: Select the storage location for messages.
- SMS Export: Set the path for SMS export.
- Automatic Signature: Apply an automatic signature to messages.
- Signature: Enter your signature.
7. Camera
Capture photos and videos with the built-in camera.
7.1 Camera
To access the camera, press the OK key from the Home screen and select Camera. The screen acts as a viewfinder. Frame your subject and press the Center Function key to take the photo, then press the Left Function key to save.
7.2 Video
Recording Video: Press the Left Function key to switch to Video mode from Camera mode. Press the Center Function key to start recording. When finished, press the Left Function key to save. Videos can be viewed in the Gallery.
8. Gallery
The Gallery serves as a media player for viewing photos and playing videos. Additional options are available for media files.
To view photos or videos, press the OK key from the Home screen and select Gallery.
9. Settings
Customize your phone's features and preferences.
9.1 Phone Settings
- Display: Adjust wallpaper, screen activation settings, screen timeout, LCD backlight, date/time display, and keypad backlight duration.
- Time & Date: Modify date and time settings, including 12/24-hour format and date format (YYYY-MM-DD, MM-DD-YYYY, DD-MM-YYYY). You can also enable automatic time updates via Phone Settings > Automatic Time Update.
- Auto Screen Lock: Set the automatic screen lock timer.
- Language: Select the display language and writing language.
- Preferred Input Method: Change the input method.
- Power On/Off Timer: Schedule automatic power on/off times.
9.2 Bluetooth
After pairing, exchange data like videos, pictures, and audio files with Bluetooth-enabled devices.
9.3 Call Forwarding
Enable or disable call forwarding.
9.4 Help (SOS)
For detailed information, refer to Section 4: SOS.
9.5 Layout
Set the display layout to 3x3 or icon mode.
9.6 Profiles
Set sound modes such as Normal, Silent, Meeting, or Airplane mode.
9.7 Dual SIM Card Settings
Manage two phone numbers on one device with the Dual SIM functionality.
9.8 Call Settings
- Call Forwarding: Initiate or cancel call forwarding to voicemail or a specified number, and check the status of call forwarding.
- Call Waiting: Enable or disable notifications for incoming calls while you are already on a call. Check the status of waiting calls.
- Call Barring: Restrict certain types of calls. This feature helps protect your data, ensure security, and avoid unwanted interruptions by managing incoming and outgoing calls.
- Special Settings: Configure Auto Redial, Call Time Reminder, Reject by SMS, Contact Notification, and Response Mode.
9.9 Security Settings
Modify PIN codes and passwords to protect your phone. The default password is 1234.
9.10 Network Settings
- Network Selection: Switch between Automatic and Manual network connection.
- Network Information: View network information.
9.11 Font Size Settings
Adjust the font size in this menu.
9.12 Call Filter
Set up your blacklist through this menu.
9.13 Regulations & Safety
View phone data such as product model, manufacturer name, IMEI, and CU reference.
9.14 Reset Settings
Restore phone settings to their default values. User data will be erased. You can reset and restart the device by entering the default password '1234'.

10. Troubleshooting
Before contacting customer support, follow these troubleshooting steps:
Phone Frozen or Cannot Turn On:
- Check battery contacts, remove and reinsert the battery, then try turning on the phone.
- Check the battery charge level and charge for at least 20 minutes.
Phone Unresponsive for Several Minutes:
- Restart the phone by pressing and holding the End key.
- Remove and reinsert the battery, then restart the phone.
Phone Turns Off Automatically:
- Ensure the device is locked when not in use and avoid accidentally pressing the End key during locking.
Phone Not Charging Properly:
- Ensure you are using a TCL battery and charger.
- Verify the battery is inserted correctly before connecting the charger.
- If the battery is completely depleted, it may take about 20 minutes for the charging indicator to appear.
- Charge under normal conditions (0°C to 40°C).
- Check input voltage compatibility when abroad.
Cannot Connect to Network or 'No Service' Message:
- Try connecting from a different location.
- Check network coverage with your service provider.
- Verify your SIM card is valid with your service provider.
- Manually select available networks.
- If the network is congested, try connecting later.
Cannot Connect to the Internet:
- Ensure your SIM card's internet access service is active.
- Check your phone's internet connection settings.
- Ensure you are in an area with network coverage.
- Try connecting later or from a different location.
Invalid SIM Card:
- Ensure the SIM card is inserted correctly.
- Check if the SIM card chip is damaged or scratched.
- Verify your SIM card service is active.
Cannot Make Outgoing Calls:
- Ensure you have dialed a valid number and pressed the call key.
- For international calls, check country and area codes.
- Verify the phone is connected to a network and the network is not overloaded or unavailable.
- Check your account status with your service provider (balance, valid SIM, etc.).
- Ensure outgoing calls are not blocked.
Cannot Receive Incoming Calls:
- Ensure the phone is powered on and connected to a network (and the network is not overloaded or unavailable).
- Check your account status with your service provider.
- Ensure call forwarding is not enabled.
- Check if specific calls are blocked.
- Ensure the phone is not in Airplane mode.
Caller Name/Number Not Displayed:
- Check with your service provider if you have subscribed to this service.
- The caller may have encrypted their name or number.
Cannot Find Contacts:
- Check if your SIM card is malfunctioning.
- Ensure the SIM card is inserted correctly.
- Import all contacts stored on the SIM card to the phone.
Poor Call Quality:
- Adjust volume using the volume keys during calls.
- Check network signal strength.
- Ensure the phone's receiver, connector, and speaker are clean.
Cannot Use Functions Described in Manual:
- Check with your service provider if your subscription includes the service.
- Ensure no TCL accessory is required for the function.
Cannot Dial a Selected Contact:
- Verify the phone number was saved correctly.
- If calling internationally, ensure the country code was selected.
Cannot Add Contact to Phonebook:
- Check if your SIM card's phonebook is full; delete some entries or save the number to the phone's contacts.
Callers Cannot Leave Voicemail:
- Contact your network provider regarding voicemail service availability.
Cannot Access Voicemail:
- Ensure the correct voicemail number is entered.
- If the network is busy, try again later.
SIM Card PIN Code Locked:
- Contact your network provider to obtain the PUK code (Personal Unblocking Key).
Phone Not Visible via Bluetooth:
- Ensure Bluetooth is enabled and your phone is set to be discoverable.
- Check if both phones are within Bluetooth detection range.
How to Transfer Data Between Phone and Computer:
- To transfer data between a memory card/SD card and a computer, connect the phone to the computer using the user data cable and select the 'SD card' option on the phone. You can then transfer data between the two locations.
