Important Information Before Use
Water Resistance
For all watch categories, the following actions are prohibited:
- Pressing buttons underwater.
- Adjusting the crown underwater.
- Operating the crown underwater.
If the watch is exposed to saltwater, rinse it thoroughly with fresh water and dry it.
Do not wear a watch with a leather strap while swimming. Avoid prolonged contact of leather straps with water.
Watches are classified by water resistance rating (from I to V) according to their degree of water resistance. Refer to the table below to determine the correct usage for your watch.
Rating | Case Marking | Splash, Rain, Sweat | Swimming, Snorkeling | Diving, Scuba Diving |
---|---|---|---|---|
I | None | None | None | |
II | WATER RESISTANT | Yes | No | No |
III | 50 M WATER RESISTANT | Yes | Yes | No |
IV | 100 M WATER RESISTANT | Yes | Yes | Yes |
V | 200 M WATER RESISTANT | Yes | Yes | Yes |
Notes:
- Rating I watches are not water resistant. Avoid any moisture.
- WR (Water Resistant) indicates that the model is water resistant according to ISO 2281. Brief contact with water will not cause any problems.
- Watches with 5 Bar (50 meters) water resistance can be used during showers and brief swimming.
- 10 Bar (100 meters) water resistance means the watch can be used during normal swimming and snorkeling.
- 20 Bar (200 meters) water resistance means the watch can be used for scuba diving (excluding depths requiring a helium-oxygen mixture).
Condensation may form on the inside of the glass due to sharp temperature changes. This is a normal physical phenomenon and not a defect.
CASIO COMPUTER CO., LTD. is not responsible for any damage that may occur from the use of these watches and does not accept any claims from third parties.
User's Guide to Watch Functions
Your watch may differ slightly from the illustrations in this manual.
Note: Some water-resistant models are equipped with a screw-lock crown. To pull out the crown, unlock it by turning it in the direction indicated in the figure. Do not use excessive force when pulling out the crown, as this may cause damage. The watch is not water resistant when the crown is pulled out. After performing all necessary operations with the crown, return it to its original position and lock it.

Watch with Backlight
Press the [Backlight button] (L) to illuminate the watch face. The backlight duration is typically 2 to 3 seconds or 1 second, depending on the model.
The backlight is powered by electroluminescent (EL) elements, which lose power after prolonged use. Frequent use of the backlight shortens battery life. Prolonged backlight activation or low battery power may cause the hands to stop moving temporarily.

Watch with Rotating Bezel
Turn the bezel so that the [Bezel mark] aligns with the minute hand. After some time, you can determine how much time has passed since the mark was aligned with the minute hand.
