Important Information: Water Resistance
For all watch categories, the following actions are prohibited:
- Pressing buttons underwater.
- Adjusting the crown or pushers underwater.
- If the watch is exposed to salt water, rinse it thoroughly with fresh water and dry it with a soft cloth.
- Do not wear a watch with a leather strap while swimming. Avoid prolonged contact of leather straps with water.
Watches are classified by water resistance rating (from I to V) according to their degree of water resistance. Refer to the table below to determine the correct usage for your watch.
Rating | Case Marking | Resistance to: Splashes, Rain, Washing | Swimming, Washing Machine | Underwater Diving, Scuba Diving | Diving with Aqua-lung |
---|---|---|---|---|---|
I | WATER RESISTANT | Yes | No | No | No |
II | 50 M WATER RESISTANT | Yes | Yes | No | No |
III | 100 M WATER RESISTANT | Yes | Yes | Yes | No |
IV | 200 M WATER RESISTANT | Yes | Yes | Yes | Yes |
V | 300 M WATER RESISTANT | Yes | Yes | Yes | Yes |
Notes:
- Watches are not waterproof. Avoid exposure to any moisture.
- WR (Water Resistant) indicates that the watch conforms to ISO 2281. Brief contact with water will not cause any problems.
- Watches with 5 Bar (50 meters) water resistance can be used during showers and brief swimming.
- Water resistance of 10 Bar (100 meters) means the watch can be used for regular swimming and snorkeling.
- Water resistance of 20 Bar (200 meters) means the watch can be used for scuba diving (except for depths requiring a helium-oxygen mixture).
Condensation may form on the inside of the glass due to sharp temperature changes. This is a normal physical phenomenon and not a defect.
CASIO COMPUTER CO., LTD. is not responsible for any damage that may arise from the use of these watches, nor does it accept any claims from third parties.
User Guide to Watch Functions
Your watch may differ slightly from the illustrations in this manual.
Setting the Time
Some water-resistant models are equipped with a screw-lock crown. To pull out the crown, you must first unlock it by rotating it in the direction indicated in the illustration. Do not use excessive force when pulling out the crown, as this may cause damage. Note that the watch is no longer water-resistant when the crown is pulled out. After completing all operations with the crown, return it to its original position and lock it.

Watches with Illumination (Backlight)
Press and hold the L button to illuminate the watch face. The backlight duration is typically 2 to 3 seconds or 1 second, depending on the model.
The backlight uses electro-luminescent (EL) elements, which lose power after prolonged use. Frequent use of the backlight will shorten battery life. Illuminating the backlight for extended periods or with a low battery charge may cause the watch hands to stop moving temporarily.

Watches with Rotating Bezel
Rotate the bezel so that the V mark aligns with the minute hand. After some time, you can determine how much time has passed since you aligned the mark with the minute hand.
