1. How to Install Aquadue Duplo to the Tap
- Ensure the tap has a 3/4" male threaded connection. Use an adapter if necessary.
- Loosen the locking ring of the tap connector.
- While holding the ring with two fingers, screw the 3/4" female connector onto the tap.
- Screw the locking ring firmly by hand only; do not use tools.

- Do not open the tap before programming the Duplo.
- Do not install Duplo inside inspection pits or below ground level.
- Do not install Duplo inside buildings.
- Do not use Duplo with substances other than water.
- Do not use Duplo with inlet pressures exceeding 10 bar (140 PSI).
- Can be connected to 1/2" threaded couplings.
2. Battery Insertion
The Duplo requires a 9-volt alkaline battery, sufficient for one irrigation season (average 2 irrigations per day).
- Press the two buttons on the sides of the valve body and simultaneously extract the programming module with a slight upward rotation (Fig. 1).
- Connect the battery to the two-pin connector, observing polarity.
- Insert the battery horizontally into its seat (Fig. 2).
- Reinsert the programming module into the valve body until it clicks into place.
Notes:
- Use only alkaline batteries and replace them at the beginning of each season.
- The LCD displays a battery charge icon. A full icon indicates a full charge; an empty icon indicates an exhausted battery.
- When the battery is exhausted, Duplo automatically stops its functions and closes both valves, while the display flashes intermittently.
- During battery replacement, the programming is maintained in memory; the maximum time allowed for replacement is 15 minutes.
- It is recommended to remove the battery during long periods of inactivity.
- Dispose of used batteries in designated collection containers.
3. Display and Battery
The display shows various indicators:
- Manual Operation
- Daily Program Number (during programming)
- Days of the Week
- Battery Charge Status
- Daily Programs (1 to 6)
- Closed Valve Indicator
- Open Valve Indicator
- Numerical Display for Sprinkler Opening and Closing Times
- Back Button (Scroll back, modify settings)
- Enter Button (Enter page, modify settings, confirm changes)
- Forward Button (Scroll forward, modify settings)
4. Guide to Basic Initial Programming
After connecting the battery, all display segments light up briefly, then the clock is displayed, showing 00:00. The central colon flashes, indicating the clock is active.
Setting the Current Time:
- From the clock display (e.g., 00:00), press ENTER. The OK symbol appears in the bottom right, and the colon stops flashing.
- Use the FORWARD and BACK buttons to set the hour. Press and hold the buttons for faster adjustment.
- Once the hour is set (e.g., 10:42), press ENTER. The OK symbol disappears. The current time is memorized, and the colon resumes flashing.
You can now proceed to set irrigation cycles. Note: Upon first activation, the programmer has no irrigation cycles set.
5. Weekly Programming
If you do not want to irrigate every day of the week, you need to set the weekly program. This allows you to select which days to irrigate and which not, for both Via A and Via B.
Procedure:
- After basic programming, the display shows the clock with the day of the week symbol illuminated. The Duplo considers the current day as Day 1.
- To program non-irrigation days:
- Press ENTER. The OK symbol appears, indicating entry into weekly programming mode, with a cursor below the EXIT symbol.
- Use the FORWARD or BACK buttons to move the cursor under the day(s) you do not want to irrigate. Remember: 1 = Today, 2 = Tomorrow, etc.
- When the cursor is on the desired day, press ENTER to cancel it. Pressing ENTER again reactivates it.
- Repeat for all days you wish to exclude from irrigation.
- To confirm and exit, move the cursor to the EXIT symbol and press ENTER. The OK symbol disappears, and the display shows the executed weekly program.
Example:
If today is Sunday (Day 1), and you want to irrigate only Monday (Day 2), Wednesday (Day 4), Friday (Day 6), and Saturday (Day 7), the programming will reflect this.
Note: The correspondence between numbers and days of the week may vary if today is not Sunday. The "Today" symbol (1) only appears if at least the first program is set.
6. Viewing Set Programs
To view set programs, scroll through the pages using the FORWARD or BACK buttons, starting from the clock display. Program numbers are shown on the top line of the display.
7. Advanced Programming
The Duplo offers 6 daily irrigation programs, each with an opening and closing time. Programs 1, 3, and 5 are for Via A; Programs 2, 4, and 6 are for Via B. Each way has three programs per day.
Programming is managed through sequential pages: Clock, Programs 1-6, Weekly Program, Manual Activation Via A, Manual Activation Via B, and back to Clock.
Use the FORWARD or BACK buttons to navigate between pages.
Notes:
- OPEN symbol indicates the irrigation program's opening time.
- CLOSED symbol indicates the irrigation program's closing time.
Programming Opening and Closing Times
This is done similarly to setting the current time. In view mode, scroll to the desired page, then press ENTER. The OK symbol appears, indicating programming mode.
Use the FORWARD and BACK buttons to increment or decrement the hour. Press and hold for faster adjustment.
Once the time is set, press ENTER to confirm and exit programming mode. The OK symbol disappears.
8. Manual Opening and Closing of Via A
From the clock display, press FORWARD or BACK to reach the "Manual Via A" page. The manual opening time is fixed at 15 minutes.
- Press ENTER. The OK and CLOSED symbols light up.
- To open Via A, press BACK. To close, press FORWARD. If not closed manually, it will automatically close after 15 minutes.
Note: You cannot exit the "Manual Via A" page while the valve is open.
9. Manual Opening and Closing of Via B
Proceed the same way as for Via A, but using the "Manual Via B" page.
10. Cancelling Programs
To cancel a set program:
- Using the FORWARD or BACK buttons, display the "CLOSED" page of the program to be cancelled (the one showing the closing time).
- Press ENTER to enter programming mode.
- Press and hold the FORWARD and BACK buttons simultaneously. Duplo will emit a long beep, and the program will be reset.
11. Connecting to a Rain Sensor
The Duplo can be connected to a Claber Rain Sensor (Code 90915). The Rain Sensor interrupts the Duplo's irrigation program during rain and automatically restores it when the sensor dries.
The Rain Sensor connects to the two designated electrical contacts inside the Duplo's programming module using the provided connector (Fig. 3). The bipolar cable should enter through the designated housing at the bottom of the Duplo. Before inserting the connector, remove the jumper installed between the two contacts (Fig. 4).
12. Usage Recommendations
- For safety, check the program(s) when first putting the Duplo into operation.
- Avoid sudden tugs on the tubes and connected couplings.
- Protect the Duplo from frost.
- Keep the panel cover closed when not programming.
- Periodically wash the sponge filter under running water. To remove it, close the tap, unscrew the Duplo by loosening the locking ring, then completely remove the ring and the 3/4" female coupling to extract the filter. Reassemble after washing.
- During periods of inactivity, it is advisable to remove the battery and store the programmer in a dry place where the temperature is not below 5°C.
