Claber Elettra Programmable Solenoid Valve

This document provides instructions for the Claber Elettra programmable solenoid valve, model 90826.

Installation

The Elettra programmable solenoid valve is fully watertight and can function submerged up to one meter deep (IP68 protection). It can be installed horizontally or vertically in valve boxes. Ensure the control unit is aligned and inserted correctly, and the transparent cover is screwed on tightly with the seal properly in place. Always install the valve respecting the water flow direction indicated by the "FLOW" arrow.

Battery Installation

To install the battery: Unscrew the transparent cover and remove the control unit. Unscrew the battery housing cap and connect a 9V alkaline battery (non-rechargeable, branded) observing correct polarity. Place the battery in the housing and retighten the cap, ensuring the seal is correctly positioned. Align the control unit with its guide and reinsert it. Retighten the transparent cover, checking the seal. Remember to open the water tap after installation.

Initial Setup and Time Setting

Upon connecting the battery, the display will light up for 2 seconds, the solenoid valve will close, and the timer will automatically set to 00:00. To set the current time: Press the middle ENTER button. "OK" will appear, indicating you can now set the time. Use the arrow buttons to adjust the hour and minutes. Holding an arrow speeds up the process. Press ENTER to confirm the time.

Programming Irrigation Cycles

All programs are set similarly. Enter programs chronologically within a 24-hour period. The timer automatically advances by 1 minute for both OPEN and CLOSED times. If a flashing symbol appears, the timer is waiting for a command; press any button.

Setting the First Irrigation Cycle (Opening)

After setting the current time, press the right arrow to access program 1. The display will show "1 00:00". Press ENTER. "OK" will appear, allowing you to set the opening time using the arrows (e.g., 05:00). Confirm by pressing ENTER.

Setting the First Irrigation Cycle (Closing)

Press the right arrow again to access the "CLOSED" page for program 1. The timer will suggest a closing time 1 minute after the opening time (e.g., if opening is 05:00, suggested closing is 05:01). The time is preceded by "1" for program 1. Press ENTER. "OK" will appear, allowing you to set the closing time using the arrows (e.g., 05:20). Confirm by pressing ENTER. Repeat this procedure for other programs.

Weekly Programming

Press the right arrow until the weekly programming page appears. Press ENTER to select the days for irrigation; all days are selected by default. Use the arrows to highlight a day and press ENTER to enable or disable it. Day 1 serves as a reference for the initial setup. For example, if Thursday is day 1 and you want to skip Friday's watering, deselect day 2. Position the cursor under "EXIT" and press ENTER to leave the weekly programming page.

Manual Programming

Use the right arrow to enter the manual programming page. This function allows an additional irrigation cycle without deleting existing programs. The timer defaults to a 5-minute irrigation duration. Press ENTER. Use the left arrow to start irrigation. To interrupt early, press the right arrow then ENTER. Use the right arrow to return to the initial time/day page.

Deleting a Program

To delete a program, navigate to the "CLOSED" mode for that program. Press ENTER, then press both arrow buttons simultaneously.

Resetting the Timer

To perform a full reset of the timer, press and hold both arrow buttons simultaneously for at least 10 seconds until "00:00" appears on the display.

Cleaning and Maintenance

At the end of the season, before winter frosts, turn off the water and drain the system by manually opening the valve to allow remaining water to flow out. Unscrew the transparent cover, remove the control unit, and unscrew the battery compartment cap to remove the battery. Screw the cap back on, ensuring the seal is correctly positioned. Align the control unit with its guides and reinsert it. Close the transparent cover, checking the seal. At the start of the new season, insert a new battery.
