Exercise Guidelines
Building Muscle and Gaining Weight
Unlike aerobic exercise, which emphasizes endurance training, anaerobic exercise focuses on strength training. A gradual weight gain can occur while building the size and strength of muscles. Your body adapts to the stress placed upon it. Modify your diet to include foods such as meat, fish, and vegetables to aid muscle recovery and replenish nutrients.
Muscle Strength and Endurance
To achieve the greatest benefit, develop a balanced exercise program working all major muscle groups equally. To increase muscle strength, increase resistance while maintaining repetitions. To tone your body, decrease resistance and increase repetitions.
Once comfortable, you can adjust resistance, repetitions, or speed. For example, if 10 kg for 10 reps in 3 minutes becomes easy, try 12 kg. Lifting heavier weights fewer times often develops muscle strength. For both strength and endurance, aim for 15-20 reps per set.
Training Intensity
Training intensity depends on your fitness level. Soreness can be reduced by lowering the load and performing fewer sets. Gradually increase the load as your fitness improves to avoid injury. Muscle soreness is common initially; prolonged pain may indicate injury.
Beginning a Strength Building Program
- Warming Up: 5-10 minutes of stretching and light exercise to prepare the body, increase circulation, raise body temperature, and improve oxygen supply to muscles.
- Workout: Be mindful that prolonged muscle soreness is undesirable and may indicate injury.
- Cool Down: 5-10 minutes of slow stretching exercises to allow muscles to wind down.
- Aerobic Exercise: 2-3 days of aerobic exercise per week is recommended in addition to strength training.
Hydration and Rest
- Drinking Water: Proper hydration is crucial for body function. Increase fluid intake during exercise to replace fluids lost through sweat.
- Rest Day: Take at least one rest day per week for body recovery. Continuous training can lead to overtraining and hinder progress.
Cleaning and Maintenance
- Periodically lubricate moving parts with WD-40 or light oil.
- Inspect and tighten all parts before using the equipment.
- Clean the equipment with a damp cloth and mild, non-abrasive detergent. DO NOT use solvents.
- Regularly examine the equipment for signs of damage or wear.
- Immediately replace any defective components or discontinue use until repaired.
- Failure to perform regular checks may affect the safety level of the equipment.
Defects and Malfunctions
Despite quality control, defects may occur. In most cases, replacing the defective part is sufficient. If the equipment does not function properly, contact the dealer immediately. Provide the model and serial number, describe the problem, conditions of use, and purchase date.
