Guarantee Periods
The following guarantee periods apply:
- 25-year guarantee: For the METOD kitchen system.
- 10-year guarantee: For the ENHET kitchen system and kitchen mixer taps.
- 5-year guarantee: For KNOXHULT kitchen system and IKEA appliances.
These guarantees are valid for domestic kitchen use and are subject to the terms and conditions stated.
What is Covered?
Guarantees cover defects in material and workmanship for domestic use.
25-Year Guarantee (METOD Kitchen System)
Covers the following parts:
- Cabinets (except for VADHOLMA and TORNVIKEN)
- Fronts
- UTRUSTA hinges
- MAXIMERA fully-extending drawers
- EXCEPTIONELL fully-extending push-to-open drawers
- UTRUSTA shelves
- Legs and plinths
- Cover panels
- Deco strips/mouldings
- Worktops
- Sinks (except FYNDIG sinks)
10-Year Guarantee (ENHET Kitchen System & Mixer Taps)
Covers the following parts of the ENHET kitchen system:
- Cabinets
- Open frames
- Fronts
- Hinges
- Drawers
- Shelves
- Legs
- Accessories (Swivel shelf, hanging shelf insert, rail for hooks and hooks)
Also covers:
- ÄSPINGE kitchen
- TORNVIKEN
- VADHOLMA kitchen cabinet and furniture
- UTRUSTA wire basket
5-Year Guarantee (KNOXHULT Kitchen System & Appliances)
Covers the following parts of the KNOXHULT kitchen system:
- Cabinets
- Fronts
- Hinges
- Drawers
- Shelves
- Worktops
- UTRUSTA electric push opener
The 5-year guarantee is valid for all domestic IKEA kitchen appliances.
Products Not Covered Under Standard Guarantees
The following are not covered under the 25, 10, or 5-year guarantees:
- Knobs
- Handles
- SUNNERSTA kitchen
- FYNDIG sink
The KALLSJÖN outdoor mixer tap has a separate 2-year guarantee.
TILLREDA and LAGAN appliances have a 2-year guarantee.
Guarantee Validity and Process
How long is the guarantee valid? The guarantee remains in force from the date of purchase. The original purchase receipt is required as proof.
What will IKEA do to correct the problem? IKEA will examine the product. If covered, IKEA will, at its discretion, repair the defective product or replace it with the same or a comparable product. IKEA will cover costs for repairs, spare parts, labour, and travel if the product is accessible for repair without special expenditure. Replaced parts become IKEA property. If an item is no longer sold, IKEA will provide an appropriate replacement.
After Sales Service: A 2-year After Sales service is provided for IKEA kitchen doors and drawer fronts, allowing for complementary purchases up to two years after discontinuation, as long as stocks last.
What is Not Covered Under Guarantee?
Guarantees do not cover:
- Normal wear and tear, cuts, scratches, or damage from impacts or accidents.
- Products stored, assembled, or installed incorrectly; inappropriate use, abuse, misuse, alteration; or cleaning with wrong methods/products.
- Incidental or consequential damage.
- For appliances: Deliberate/negligent damage, damage from failure to observe instructions, incorrect installation, wrong voltage, chemical/electro-chemical reactions, rust, corrosion, water damage (including lime scale), abnormal environmental conditions.
- Consumable parts (batteries, lamps).
- Non-functional/decorative parts not affecting normal use (scratches, colour differences).
- Accidental damage from foreign objects/substances; cleaning/unblocking filters, drainage systems, soap drawers.
- Specific parts like ceramic glass, accessories, baskets, pipes, seals, lamps, screens, knobs, casings unless due to production faults.
- Cases where no fault is found by a technician.
- Repairs not carried out by authorized providers or using non-original parts.
- Repairs due to faulty installation.
- Use in non-domestic/professional environments.
- Transportation damages (unless delivered by IKEA, then contact IKEA Customer Service at IKEA.co.th).
- Cost of initial installation.
These restrictions do not apply to fault-free work by a qualified specialist using original parts to adapt appliances to EU technical safety specifications.
Assembly, Installation, and Legal Rights
Assembly and Care Instructions: Follow specific care instructions for every product, available at IKEA.co.th.
Installation: Kitchen furniture must be fixed to the wall. Ensure walls can support the weight. For uncertain installations, contact a professional. Screws for wall fixing are not included. Contact a specialized dealer for advice on screw systems.
How Country, Provincial, and State Law Applies: The guarantee grants specific legal rights in addition to statutory legal rights.
