CASIO Module No. 3247
G-001
General Information and Care
This section provides essential information for the proper use and care of your Casio watch.
Handling and Environment
- Avoid exposing the watch to extreme temperatures.
- Handle the watch with care; avoid rough treatment and dropping.
- Do not fasten the watch strap too tightly; a finger should fit between the strap and your wrist.
- Store the watch in a dry place when not in use.
- Avoid contact with gasoline, cleaning solvents, spray cleaners, adhesives, paints, or other chemicals, as these can damage the watch's gaskets, case, and finish.
Cleaning
- Use a dry, soft cloth, or a soft cloth dampened with a water-and-mild-neutral-detergent solution to clean the watch and strap.
- For straps with silk-screened designs, be careful during cleaning to avoid damaging the patterns.
Battery
The battery installed at the factory is for initial testing and may discharge during shipping and storage. If you notice signs of insufficient power (dim display), replace the battery at an authorized CASIO service center or dealer.
Water Resistance
Watches are classified by water resistance levels (I through V). Consult the table below to determine the appropriate usage for your watch's rating.
General Water Resistance Precautions:
- Never press buttons underwater.
- Never move the crown underwater.
- Never unscrew the crown underwater.
- If the watch is exposed to salt water, rinse it thoroughly and dry it.
- Do not wear a watch with a leather strap while swimming. Avoid prolonged contact of leather straps with water.
Rating Level | Case Marking | Splash, Rain, Washing | Swimming, Splash | Diving, Snorkeling | Scuba Diving (non-helium) |
---|---|---|---|---|---|
I | No Marking | Yes | No | No | No |
II | WATER RESISTANT | Yes | No | No | No |
III | 50 M WATER RESISTANT | Yes | Yes | No | No |
IV | 100 M WATER RESISTANT | Yes | Yes | Yes | No |
V | 200 M WATER RESISTANT | Yes | Yes | Yes | Yes |
V | 300 M WATER RESISTANT | Yes | Yes | Yes | Yes |
Notes:
- Level I watches are not water resistant. Avoid any contact with water.
- WR (Water Resistant) means the model is waterproof according to ISO 2281. Brief contact with water will not cause problems.
- 5 Bar (50 meters) water resistance means the watch can withstand water pressure of that magnitude and can be used while showering and brief swimming.
- 10 Bar (100 meters) water resistance means the watch can be used during normal swimming and snorkeling.
- 20 Bar (200 meters) water resistance means the watch can be used for scuba diving (excluding depths requiring a helium-oxygen mixture).
Plastic Straps
A white powdery substance on a plastic strap is harmless and can be removed by wiping with a cloth. Sweat or moisture on a plastic strap, or storage in high humidity, can damage or crack the strap. Wipe the strap clean with a soft cloth to ensure a long service life.
Fluorescent Cases and Straps
Prolonged exposure to direct sunlight can cause fluorescent colors to fade. Prolonged contact with moisture can also cause fading; wipe off any moisture as soon as possible. Contact with other wet surfaces can cause color transfer. Ensure fluorescent surfaces are dry and avoid contact with other surfaces.
CASIO COMPUTER CO., LTD. is not responsible for any damage that may occur from the use of this watch.

- Wear the watch on the outside of your wrist. Wearing it on the inside may cause accidental activation and drain the battery. If you prefer wearing it on the inside, turn Auto EL OFF.
- The backlight will not activate if the watch face is tilted less than 15 degrees.
- Static electricity or magnetic forces can interfere with Auto EL. If it doesn't activate, return the watch to a neutral position and try again.
- A faint clicking sound may be heard when tilting the watch; this is normal mechanical operation of the Auto EL function.
- The Auto EL function turns off automatically after approximately six hours of inactivity to save battery.
To turn Auto EL ON/OFF: In Stopwatch Mode, press and hold B for about three seconds to toggle the Auto EL indicator ON or OFF.
