Casio BGA-132 Watch Module 5232 User Manual

General Precautions

Do not expose the watch to extreme temperatures. Avoid rough handling and dropping. Do not overtighten the band; there should be space between your wrist and the band. Clean the watch and band with a dry soft cloth, or a soft cloth dampened with a mild neutral detergent solution. Never use volatile solvents like gasoline, thinners, spray cleaners, etc. When not wearing your watch, store it in a dry place. Avoid contact with gasoline, cleaning solvents, aerosol sprays, adhesives, paint, etc. Chemical reactions with these materials can damage gaskets, case, and finish. Some models have silk-screened designs on their bands. Be careful when cleaning these bands to avoid damaging the designs.

Battery

The battery installed at the factory is discharged during shipping and storage. If you notice signs of insufficient power (dim display), contact an authorized CASIO service center or dealer for battery replacement.

Water Resistance

Watches are classified by water resistance rating (from I to V) according to their protection level. Use the table below to determine the correct usage for your watch.

RatingCase MarkingSplashes, Rain, etc.Swimming, WashingDivingSnorkeling
INoneNoNoNoNo
IIWATER RESISTANTYesNoNoNo
III50 M WATER RESISTANTYesYesNoNo
IV100 M WATER RESISTANTYesYesYesNo
V200 M WATER RESISTANTYesYesYesYes

Notes:

  • Rating I: Not water resistant. Avoid all moisture.
  • Rating II (WATER RESISTANT) means the model is water resistant according to ISO 2281. Brief contact with water will not cause problems.
  • Rating III (5 Bar / 50 meters) means the watch can withstand water pressure of the indicated value and can be used while showering and for brief swimming.
  • Rating IV (10 Bar / 100 meters) means the watch can be used for regular swimming and snorkeling.
  • Rating V (20 Bar / 200 meters) means the watch can be used for scuba diving (excluding depths requiring a helium-helium mixture).

Care and Maintenance

Never attempt to open the case or remove the back cover. The gasket protecting against water and dust should be replaced every 2-3 years. If moisture enters the watch, have it checked immediately by your dealer or a CASIO distributor.

Plastic Bands

A white powdery substance may appear on plastic bands. This substance is harmless and can be easily removed by wiping with a cloth. Sweat or moisture, or storage in high humidity conditions, can damage, crack, or break plastic bands. Wipe them clean with a soft cloth whenever possible.

Fluorescent Cases and Bands

Prolonged exposure to direct sunlight can cause fluorescent colors to fade. Prolonged contact with moisture can also cause fluorescent colors to fade. Wipe off any moisture as soon as possible. Contact with other wet surfaces may cause discoloration. Ensure fluorescent surfaces are dry and avoid contact with other surfaces.

UV LED Backlight Warning

Do not use magnifying optical devices to view the dial when the backlight is on. This device is a Class 1M UV LED product, complying with IEC60825-1:1993+A1:1997. Although the UV LED light is invisible, do not use magnifying optical devices to view the dial when the backlight is on. The UV LEDs have a maximum power of less than 25 mW and a wavelength of 375 nm.

About This Manual

Buttons are represented by letters as shown in the figure. For ease of understanding, the watch hands are not shown in screen examples in this manual. Each section provides information needed for operations in that mode. More detailed information can be found in 'Technical Specifications'. Depending on the model, the display may show dark characters on a light background or light characters on a dark background. All screen examples in this manual show dark characters on a light background. Indicators are normally dark on light; when backlight is on, they are light on dark.
