JABLOTRON JB-EXT-TH-R Wireless Outdoor Temperature Detector
Product Overview
The JB-EXT-TH-R is a wireless component of the JABLOTRON system designed for outdoor temperature measurement. It utilizes either an internal sensor (measuring -25 to 60 °C) or an external JB-TS-PT1000 sensor (measuring -50 to 200 °C) for liquids, gases, or solids. Measured data is sent to MyJABLOTRON for analysis, storage, and use in functions like PG output activation, SMS alerts for temperature limits, and graph creation. All functions are programmable via MyJABLOTRON. The PG control function can be assigned to a maximum of two thermometers per control panel.
Installation should be performed by a trained technician with a valid certificate from an authorized distributor.
Installation
Select an installation location based on temperature measurement requirements. The thermometer automatically detects the external sensor (JB-TS-PT1000). If the external sensor is not connected, the internal sensor on the PCB is used, requiring protection from direct sunlight. Avoid placing the detector near heat sources like heaters, electric fans, air conditioning outlets, or fireplace inserts. The detector is rated IP53, allowing for outdoor installation.
Installation Diagram Description (Figure 1)
Figure 1 illustrates the detector's components:
- A - Base of the unit
- B - Front part of the case containing electronics
- 1 – Mounting holes
- 2 – Wire terminal for the external sensor JB-TS-PT1000
- 3 – Cover lock screw
- 4 – Battery holder
- 5 – External antenna AN-868 connector
- 6 – Light signalization indicator
- 7 – Production number
- 8 – Discharging button
- 9 – Wire terminal connector
Installation Steps
- Loosen the screw (3) and detach the front part (B) from the base (A).
- If using the external sensor, route its wire through the base's hole and mount the base in the desired location.
- Connect the external sensor to the wire terminal (2).
- Follow the control panel installation manual for basic enrollment procedure: Navigate to F-link software, select the device position, and click 'Enroll'. The enrollment signal is sent when the first battery is inserted.
- Attach the front part (B) to the base (A). The external sensor connects to the PCB via the wire terminal connector.
- Secure the cover using the screw (3).
Installation Notes
- Enrollment can also be done via F-Link by entering the production code (7).
- To remove the detector from the control panel, erase it from its position in the software.
- The polarity of the JB-TS-PT1000 external sensor is not critical. The sensor is available with 3m conductors, extendable as per Table 1.
- External sensor connection is recognized for the first 15 minutes after battery insertion. To reconnect after this period, remove both batteries, press the discharging button (8), and reinsert batteries.
- A 'Fault' status is reported if the external sensor is disconnected while the detector is powered on.
Functions and MyJABLOTRON Integration
Keypads from the JA-114E, JA-154E, JA-110E, and JA-150E series can display temperatures from up to two thermometers. Refer to the JA-10xK installation manual for details.
The detector features a fixed antifreeze temperature of 0 °C with a 1 °C hysteresis, meaning activation occurs at 0 °C and deactivation above 1 °C. It remains deactivated until the temperature drops below 0 °C again.
Using F-Link software, control panel reactions (PG output, 24h alarm) can be configured to respond to temperature detector activation, allowing direct control of PG outputs.
All thermometer functions are accessible through MyJABLOTRON. The registration procedure is detailed in the Control panel installation manual.
MyJABLOTRON Features
MyJABLOTRON stores and displays all thermometer measurements in the 'Thermostats and Thermometers' tab. Temperatures are logged every 5 minutes and can be viewed on adjustable timeline graphs. Data can be exported, and the mobile app allows comparison of temperatures from different thermometers or time periods.
PG Control by Measured Temperature
MyJABLOTRON enables configuring PG output activation based on measured temperatures. This requires stable external communication. Users can set desired activation temperatures via a slider in the 'Thermostats and Thermometer' tab.
Linking a thermometer to a PG output is performed by a service technician in the MyCOMPANY app's 'Installation management' section. The PG output must be configured for ON/OFF or Impulse functions (Impulse timer at least 1 hour). PG outputs with other functions are not compatible with MyJABLOTRON control.
Important Notes for PG Control
- Temperature triggers for PG outputs can also be set in MyCOMPANY and MyJABLOTRON mobile apps.
- Linking to a specific PG output is only possible in MyCOMPANY (web or mobile).
- A maximum of 2 thermometers (wireless and BUS combined) can be configured per control panel.
- GSM and LAN communicators are required for MyJABLOTRON PG output control to function correctly.
- Due to external app control, functionality is not guaranteed under all circumstances. If MyJABLOTRON connection is lost, the PG output status remains unchanged until re-established. It is recommended to use the IMPULS function with a 2:00:00 activation time for PG outputs controlled via MyJABLOTRON.
- The activation hysteresis for a PG output is -1 °C. The output activates when the measured temperature is 1 °C below the set point and deactivates when it exceeds the set point by 1 °C.
Temperature Limit Notifications
Users can set higher and lower temperature limits and monitoring periods in 'Settings → Thermometer notification'. Exceeding or falling below these limits triggers notifications via SMS, email, or push notifications through the MyJABLOTRON app.
Battery Replacement
The system automatically reports low battery levels. No service mode switch is required for battery replacement as the detector lacks a tamper contact.
After removing the old battery, press the discharging button (4) to discharge internal capacitors before inserting a new battery.
For enrolling the detector to a different control panel, follow the same procedure. Use CR123A batteries for extended detector life. Always replace both batteries simultaneously with the same type and brand of fully charged batteries.
External Sensor JA-TS-PT1000
The JB-EXT-TH-R package does not include the external JA-TS-PT1000 sensor. The sensor comes with 3m conductors, which can be extended. However, conductor extension may introduce measurement deviation. Table 1 provides recommended wire gauges for extensions.
